This CPD course meets the criteria for the General Dental Council’s development outcomes C. This course includes medical emergencies as set out by the GDC in the dental practice. Immediate Life Support (ILS) Level 3 (VTQ) course is designed to meet the requirements of ILS courses laid down by UK Resus Council guidelines and is certified by ProTrainings. This CPD course meets the criteria for the General Dental Council’s development outcomes C. This course includes medical emergencies as set out by the GDC in the dental practice. This course includes the latest CPR and Coronavirus recommendations. The aim is to train healthcare personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, simple airway management and safe defibrillation by enabling them to manage patients in cardiac arrest until the arrival of a cardiac arrest team and to participate as members of that team. The course is run over one day and consists of lectures and practical sessions. The course looks at how to identify the causes and promote the prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest. Recognise and treat the deteriorating patient using the ABCDE approach and undertake the skills of quality CPR and defibrillation. It also covers simple airway manoeuvres and utilises non-technical skills to facilitate initial leadership and effective team membership. Anaphylaxis is a severe and life-threatening allergic reaction, which requires immediate medical attention. With the number of sufferers increasing each year, it is extremely important to know what to do when faced with this acute emergency condition.  The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic life support and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency. Successful candidates will be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, and will be equipped with the vital skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective treatment.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Course

e-ALS has been developed using the RCUKs evidence-based Guidelines and decades of experience in delivering effective resuscitation courses for healthcare professionals, and will help build the confidence needed to take the lead in an emergency. During the course, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to: Recognise and manage the deteriorating patient using a structured ABCDE approach; Deliver standardised CPR in adults; Manage a cardiac arrest by working with a multidisciplinary team in an emergency situation; Become an effective and confident team member and leader by utilising non-technical skills. Who is the course for? The e-ALS course is designed for healthcare professionals who need skills in advanced life support as part of their clinical duties, as well as those who teach these skills on a regular basis. This includes doctors, paramedics and nurses working in acute care areas (e.g. ED, CCU, ICU, HDU, operating theatres, acute medical admissions units) or on resuscitation/ medical emergency/ Critical Care Outreach teams. All applicants must hold a professional healthcare qualification or be in training for a professional healthcare qualification. Medical students in their final year of training can be accepted as Candidates if this is an established local arrangement. Instructions Candidates do a day of e-learning followed by a day of face-to-face learning at one of our Course Centres. Pre course preparation: Before the course, you will be registered on the RCUK Learning Management System (LMS). Here, you can access pre-course course modules that will prepare you for your face-to-face session and a pre-course multiple choice question (MCQ) paper. You will receive your course manual one month before the course. Candidates are expected to read the manual in preparation for the course and submit a completed pre-course MCQ paper before the course begins. Programme: As part of your e-learning you will read through modules that cover all core components of the course. These modules will help you learn at your own pace and test your knowledge before attending a face-to-face day where you will develop your practical skills with the help of our Instructors, and participate in cardiac arrest simulations (CASTeach). Refreshments including lunch are included on all RCUK courses with Immerse Medical Due to the expense incurred in running this course there will be no refund for candidates who, for whatever reason do not attend the course, or cancel within six weeks of the course unless a replacement candidate can be found. This regulated and nationally recognised basic life support training (BLS) and management of anaphylaxis course allows students to hone their skills and knowledge in BLS and AED use as well as anaphylaxis treatment. This first aid course is intended for individuals who have a specific responsibility at work, at home, or in volunteer and community activities to render basic life support and manage anaphylaxis in the event of an emergency. This course can be adapted to both adults and paediatrics.

These special First Aid Skills Practice Sessions give you the chance to refresh your theory and/or practical skills Whichever subjects you would like to work on - you choose what you want to practice or know more about Course Contents: Can’t quite remember how or why to put someone in the recovery position? Practice it! Still confident in giving CPR? Ever done it with different barriers? Here’s your chance. Scared of what to do if someone chokes? We have baby and child infant choking models and an adult choking vest. Save their lives! Bandage a wound, apply a sling, treat someone for shock? That can be done. Want to know more about Heart Attacks or Strokes? Just let us know. Know the theory about an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), but haven’t had the chance to actually use one? Now you can. And so on and so forth – the choice is yours! Benefits of this course: Have you already got a valid First Aid Certificate? Can you still remember everything that you have learned? Or maybe you did some training a while ago that wasn't necessarily certificated, and you just want to refresh your skills and knowledge a bit Do you feel confident you can do what needs doing when the situation arises? It is highly recommended to do 'something’ to keep your skills up to date – as a matter of fact, this is a prerequisite of your First Aid Certificate. We run Annual Refresher courses, which is a properly accredited certification awarded by Qualsafe Awards. These are recommended on a yearly basis. In between that, it is still good to keep one's skills and knowledge up to date. Our special First Aid Skills Practice Sessions give you the chance to refresh your theory and/or practical skills. Whichever subjects you would like to work on. An experienced trainer will be at hand to show and explain. NOWHERE ELSE DO YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO DO THIS! CPD Accredited: These sessions are non-Ofqual regulated. However, they are taught by our trainer, who is an accredited first aid trainer via Qualsafe Awards, First Aid Awards Ltd and Highfields Qualifications. You'll get accredited quality either way! These sessions are CPD Accredited, so you'll get 1.5 CPD hours with this training.
