This crochet workshop is suitable for complete beginners, or anyone who has crocheted in the past but has forgotten the basics.

Welcome home to the sweet meeting of body and earth. A day of Qigong and Breathwork celebrating the autumn equinox and the abundance of life. Join me for a day retreat in the calm oasis of the Sunhouse to embrace the season of late summer and the Earth Element. A wonderful opportunity to take time out and align yourself with the natural flow of energy around us and within us, allowing each of us to access greater vitality and health. September is a time of transition the moment of fullness before the letting go of autumn. A time of giving and receiving and of recognising our own gifts. For me the one word that sums up the earth element is Gratitude, Gratitude, Gratitude. In the morning we will practice some simple qigong exercises, movements and meditations to access the deeper energies within us. We will be leaning into the earth nourishment of the equinox. Learning how to find our own grounded, stable centre, to connect to the earth of our body and to our own innate beauty and natural wisdom.  In the afternoon we will lie down and relax into the support of the earth to receive a deep healing Breathwork Session. We will use conscious connected breathing to encourage detoxification of your body, releasing stuck energy and beliefs and resetting your whole nervous system. The course introduces Down syndrome to people who have little experience of working with children with Down syndrome and covers society’s view of Down syndrome, health implications, strengths and weaknesses in the classroom and outlines ways to address the specific learning needs and manage behaviours.

The Care Certificate is a one-day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as hands on activities, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. Learners will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding around the 15 care standards. Each of the 15 standards have specific learning outcomes and assessment criteria. The Care Certificate provides care staff with the fundamental skills to provide a quality, safe and effective service. The course covers manual handling of people and objects which is a full day course using equipment. If you have no intention of removing asbestos but work on buildings built or refurbished before the year 2000, asbestos could be present. You will need awareness training so you know how to avoid the risks. Asbestos awareness training should be given to employees whose work could foreseeably disturb the fabric of a building and expose them to asbestos or who supervise or influence the work. In particular, it should be given to those workers in the refurbishment, maintenance and allied trades where it is foreseeable that ACMs may become exposed during their work.

Learn about the unique qualities of silver clay and make your own solid silver jewellery. You'll be guided by a friendly and experienced teacher to help you make three jewellery pieces for you to treasure and take away! Firstly, you will make a leaf pendant or earrings. Then you'll mould a small object of your choosing to turn into a charm. Lastly, you will form a pendant or charm and learn how to add texture and a gemstone. Once all your projects are ready, you will be shown how to fire and polish your pieces to be solid silver with a beautiful shine.

The medication and record keeping course is a full day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as scenarios, activities, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. Learners will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding around the administering of medication and the importance of record keeping. Some of the key Learning Outcomes we cover are; Understanding of the legislation surrounding medication Understanding of role and responsibilities Understanding of medication policy and procedures Understanding of boundaries when assisting with medication Explain how and why medication errors occur Explain how to eliminate or reduce risks to individuals safety Aware of who and where to report concerns Understand the importance of thorough documentation Care providers are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and as a result must meet the Health and Social Care Act 2014 (Regulation 18 Staffing). Evidence of training and understanding is provided to support providers in their evidence of compliance.
