Join artist Julie Galante for an afternoon of homemade botanical inks made from foraged plants and kitchen scraps. In 2023 Julie dove into ink-making, producing more than 300 inks from over 100 different botanical sources. In this three-hour workshop, Julie will share what she’s learned from all these inky experiments, giving you the skills and knowledge to create your own library of botanical colours. She'll share her core learnings, including the best ways to extract colours, the best plants to use, and how to preserve and store your inks. We'll also cover different ways of finishing your inks depending on how you'd like to use them. Please note this workshop will take place in Julie's Stockbridge studio, which is accessible via three flights of stairs. We will also spend part of the workshop foraging outside, weather permitting, so please dress accordingly. Tea and coffee will be provided.

FOUR DAY ATTENDENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINE: DAY ONE AND TWO - INTRODUCTION TO DERMAL FILLERS Day one Arrive and coffees (10.00) Registration, introduction and expectations (10.00-10.15) Structure of the training (10.15-10.30) Break (10.30-11.00) Lectures and interactive workshops / simulation (11.00 - 1230pm) Health and safety in the workplace Sharps injury and disposal The consultation process and prescriptions LUNCH (1300-1730) with a coffee break Basic life support Anaphylaxis - recognition and management Emergency kits - what it should contain and how to buy one Your doctors on call - how to contact our on call doctors for emergency advice How to use Hyalase safely - when to use it / recognise mechanism of action, how prescription in an emergency works and how to give the hyalase Practical and to include demonstration of Hyalase injection Our added benefits services for safety and convenience Day two Arrive and coffees (10.00) introduction and expectations (10.00-10.30) Structure of the training (10.30-11.00) Formal written examination covering key areas of THEORY for Dermal Filler injections: Anatomy, Physiology, Products and Complications. This will highlight early on if any important areas need to be covered in more detail for the students (11.00 - 1200) - Break for lunch - Practical session commences - (12.30 - 1800) - and in total on average we have scope for one model per 30 minutes on both of the Dermal filler days, so that’s a potential for 10 in total for a class size of maximum 4, which will give good hands on experience, as the way we train is to allow several people the opportunity to be involved with each patient - e.g. splitting into the phases of treatment, which allows the trainees to understand the concept of the treatment process. That would be - consultation, consent, marking up, readying equipment, performing the injection, providing advice and aftercare. DAY THREE AND FOUR BOTOX FOUNDATION COURSE Day three Arrive and coffees (10.00) introduction and expectations (10.00 – 10.30) Structure of the training (10.30 – 11.00) Formal written examination covering key areas of THEORY for Botox Application: Anatomy, Physiology, Products and Complications. Day four Observed Treatment Process Examination The participants will be tested on the following key facets of safe practical care: Consultation process - rapport and understanding what the client wants Safe consent Marking and photographs Technical skill of injection Atercare provision and safety netting (eg if this happens do this / call me) 1 model will be provided for Botulinum (3 area) treatment and 1 - 2 clients for filler to ensure that each of the key anatomical areas covered are observed. Morning = Botulinum (0900 - 1230) Afternoon = Botulinum and Option Dermal fillers (1330 - 1630) Conclusion Candidates given session and refreshments and discussion regarding Case Studies and further support. (1700 - 1800)

A single day knife making course is a great way to make yourself an item that will last a lifetime, on this one day course we forge a blacksmiths knife (also called a Viking knife) a full metal knife with integral handle. A knife is one of the oldest tools ever made by humanity and it is one that invokes many emotions to people when they see and use it for a productive task. When doing a knife making course here at Bearded Pig Forge we will discuss the fine details of a knife and how they are made as well as the history of forging them.  On the course you will learn the basics of forging a blade and how to effectively heat treat them in order to get the most use out of the blades as well as techniques for sharpening and honing blades. Person Centred Planning (PCP) is a powerful tool for visioning, future planning and team building. It gets everyone on the same page and creates a progressive, constructive atmosphere so it is especially useful for people who are feeling ‘stuck’ or in a really desperate situation. The PCP processes we teach are called “PATH” and “MAPs”, and are both used for different situations. “To facilitate a group, family, team or organisation in thinking together around a given challenge or issue. Here is an opportunity to experience for real the person centred, futures planning tool – MAP/PATH” (Pearpoint, Forest, O’Brien. 1989). PCP can focus on an individual, with family and friends in the room supporting them, or focus on a group who want to set goals, and realise their potential as a team. PCP focuses on hopes and dreams, so is a very positive approach to planning, and utilises graphic facilitation, making it a very friendly way of working that is accessible to everyone.  This unique, hands on PCP training course explores the difference between ‘person-centred thinking’ and ‘service-centred thinking’. Traditionally, we have not always listened deeply enough to the needs of those we are planning for. Often ‘medical model’ thinking dominates our planning for those with the most complex needs. Typically we plan ‘about’ rather than ‘with’ children and adults.  We examine this ‘service centred’ approach that most professionals are used to, and question its limitations. This values based approach to inclusion will give participants the ‘theory’ behind why thinking and working in a person centred way is so important, and challenges people to strive for more for the people we are planning around. In addition to the knowledge and theory, this course empowers participants to facilitate their own Person Centred Plans using the PATH or MAPs process and provides the skills to do this effectively.
