We are the founders of Dragonfly: Impact Education. Our mission: To give leaders the expertise to build schools where good mental health is the foundation for all success. For us, ensuring a positive mental health culture in schools is a Four Wing thing. Just as a dragonfly needs four wings to have the manoeuvrability to adapt and respond to its environment, school cultures need four elements in place to ensure all members of the community can benefit from good mental health, resilience and the capacity to respond to the challenges we all face. Competition for funding is at an all-time high which has then led into longer waiting times between the initial application and the decision making. The Shop Zero Story When our founder, Sarah Maloy, went all-in on Plastic-free July in 2016, she felt completely overwhelmed! The world just wasn’t set up to help people reduce their waste. In committing to shop more consciously, Sarah embarked on an exciting new journey. She realised that if she was struggling to get bulk food and refills for her containers then other people would be too. How could she help to provide a solution? By opening her own zero-waste shop, Shop Zero (you can read about this experience in Sarah’s own words here). Sarah threw all of her research and knowledge into Shop Zero, only stocking products from ethical suppliers that she would personally use. Why do your eco-friendly shopping at Shop Zero? Our focus is on providing you with great quality sustainable goods with minimal packaging and a lower environmental impact. At Shop Zero, we know the provenance of what we sell – where our products come from and what they’re made of. We work alongside local producers and makers to bring you great quality sustainable products. To reduce packaging and food waste, we offer whole foods and store cupboard essentials in bulk and unpackaged. All ready for your own containers, in the quantities that you choose. We also host an exciting programme of ethically-focused events, talks, pop-up shops and workshops throughout the year featuring some amazing local independent businesses and individuals. And we’re here to talk with you about what you’re buying, so you can shop sustainably with confidence. We need a change in the way we consume and shop. At Shop Zero, we want to support the move away from a linear approach of producing greater amounts of waste to taking more responsibility for the impact we have on our world.

During my career inside the education system, I struggled to comprehend and follow policies and procedures that were clearly failing families on a daily basis and having a negative impact on staff. My passion for wanting the best for these families left me frustrated and battling against a rigid system that wouldn’t bend. Too often, people weren’t offered support until they reached crisis point. I knew more had to be done, and it had to be done sooner.

WEBS Training is a small independent training provider situated in Beeston, Nottinghamshire. It is now in its 50th year of operation. Historically WEBS has specialised in the delivery of Furniture Manufacturing training and apprenticeships but more recently has begun to expand provision across business service support, offering a breadth of scope to employers and learners. Provision is currently offered at its Beeston site and/or on employer premises. Our mission is “to make a positive impact on the UK and local economies by delivering a high quality and progressive training service that is responsive to the needs of learners and employers”.
