Awareness of first aid for mental health: What will you learn? You’ll be surprised by how much you enjoy the 4-hour session. I always make sure the learning process is engaging, interactive and stimulating — so you won’t be bored. Most importantly, it’s a fascinating insight into a subject that’s often brushed under the carpet. It’s a flexible course, and I’m always happy to tailor the content. That’s the responsibility of a healthcare professional. However, you’ll know where to signpost an individual who needs professional help. You’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to approach, reassure and support someone when they need it most.

Challenging behaviour is causing increasing concern today as many individuals have increasing levels of stress and uncertainty in their lives. Understanding the causes of challenging behaviour is the first step towards finding ways to support individuals and manage their behaviour.
Reiki level 1, is the beginners level. Even at this level, you have access to Reiki energy and the ability to use Reiki energy to heal yourself and others. Level 1 is open to anyone. The focus during Level 1 is on opening the energy channels on a physical level, allowing the practitioner to connect to the universal life force energy; you will receive full ongoing support to ensure you feel fully confident and consistent in your practice. I believe this means more practitioners will continue to use reiki daily, rather than be attuned and then never use it again.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFAider) is an internationally recognised training course that teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. We don't teach people to be therapists, but we do teach people how to respond in a crisis, and how to reach out before a crisis happens. The training gives people tools to support themselves and each other, so everyone can talk about mental health and seek help when needed.
