Course Introduction Our Venepuncture and Phlebotomy training equips delegates with the skills and knowledge needed to take blood safely. Please note: this course is for health care professionals and nurses only. About this event Applicable to Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists in primary care, the community, hospitals or nursing homes, this course is interactive and involves a demonstration session on performing blood tests. Our venepuncture training will give delegates the theoretical and practical awareness to undertake a competence assessment framework in the workplace that will deem them competent to take blood safely and appropriately. Each delegate will receive a competence-based framework to allow them to do this. First Aid training – Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) (FAA Award Level 2) is QCF, Ofqual and HSE approved awarding organisation. This course delivered over a minimum of 6 hours is both practical and theoretical covering responsibilities of the first aider, reporting, first aid hygiene, bleeding, shock, seizures, assessments, resuscitation, angina, heart attacks, choking, minor injuries and dealing with an unresponsive casualty, compliant with the latest health and safety executive regulations and guidelines. ATTIRE AND DRESS CODE We would recommend for all female candidates to wear trousers, comfortable shoes so that they can all practice the technique of CPR effectively on the CPR manikins. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints. Assess an incident. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries. Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries. Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally. Be able to conduct a secondary survey. Who should attend? This qualification is for people who deal with first aid at work. Enabling them to be workplace first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This qualification is also for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities. This will allow them to provide basic first aid to people in a range of situations. Pre-requisites Students must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training. Assessment and Certifications Assessment of this course is continuous and includes two theory/multiple choice question papers. Successful students will receive an Immerse Training Certificate, which is valid for three years. This certificate will be issued by Qualsafe, the awarding body for Immerse Training. Additional Information Completion of the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work includes 3 credits at Level 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
