Hello there, young movers and shakers! Welcome to our thrilling Kids Jazz Dance Class designed especially for children aged between 5 and 8. Jazz dance is all about finding your own groove, letting loose, and having a jolly good time! So, get ready to dive into a world where rhythm meets fun, and fun meets fancy footwork. In our Kids Jazz Dance Class, we learn more than just basic jazz steps. We embrace the magic of dance, letting it take us on an exhilarating journey of discovery! From the moment your little ones step into our vibrant dance studio, they'll be immersed in a bubbly, energetic environment that is as exciting as it is welcoming. The course is all about letting children explore movement, rhythm, and the wonderful world of jazz dance. We begin by introducing the youngsters to classic jazz steps that are as playful as they are graceful. Each week, they'll be learning new moves, from the lively "jazz square" to the enchanting "pivot step" and even the dazzling "kick ball change". But that's not all! Dance is not just about steps, it's about the whole body. So, we've incorporated exercises to develop balance and coordination, too. We'll be playing exciting dance games and doing engaging exercises that will help your child become nimble and agile, just like the best jazz dancers! And for the aspiring young dancers who dream of mastering the perfect splits, we have you covered! Our caring and experienced instructors will guide your children on a safe, step-by-step journey towards this classic dance move. We'll be stretching, strengthening, and preparing their little bodies, all while ensuring they're having a blast. DATE: 2nd April TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A Are you looking to get feedback on a film, acting showreel or short screenplay? Send it in to be part of our CRITICAL VIEWING SESSION. This is a laid-back, informal session where you can receive feedback on your work from your peers and friends in a friendly, constructive manner.This will be a great opportunity for you to get unofficial feedback on work you have completed both in school and in your personal time, as well as give you the chance to flex your criticism muscles and express how you feel about others' work.Please note, films should not exceed 10 minutes, scripts or script samples should not exceed 10 pages and showreels/performance pieces should not exceed 5 minutes.

DATE: Thursday 18th July TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A MAX ALBRECHT is the creative director and founder of Critical Mask Pictures, a production company that focuses on narrative filmmaking. Max will be joining us on Thursday 18th July to discuss how best to market yourself and find work as a freelancer in the film and television industries. With years of experience under his belt, this will be a great Life Skills Session to attend to learn about life after CFS. Max will also discuss his experiences founding a production company and operating as a sole trader, so that attendees can learn of all the many ways to make a living independently in the business. A Q+A Session will take place for anything specific people wanted to ask. Be sure to book your free ticket in advance so that you don't miss out!

Date: Thursday 28th September Time: 4pm Location: Studio A - Landor Road Event Details: Richard Hewitt is a film producer, who has previously worked in the industry as a 1st AD and Production Manager over the last few decades. He has kindly agreed to visit CFS to discuss hiss experiences in these roles, whilst shining a light on the different types of producers and their responsibilities. He has produced many well known and respected movies, including: - Bohemian Rhapsody - The Theory of Everything - Never Let Me Go - The Aeronauts The session will wrap with a wider Q+A session at the end. This is a free event that all students are welcome to attend. Be sure to book tickets in advance though so that you don't miss out!

Date: Tuesday 3rd October Time: 4pm Location: Studio A Lucy Percival will be holding a talk on 'How to Find Your Ideal Role in Film & Navigating the World of Independent Filmmaking & Financing' Lucy has produced award-winning short films through both independent production companies and organisations such as the BFI and NFTS. Her films have been screened at numerous BAFTA qualifying festivals, including Raindance, Bolton International Film Festival and Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. She has now joined Window Zebra Productions as their Senior Creative Producer overlooking and developing the narrative slate. Come and hear her thoughts and suggestions on how you can find your wheelhouse and get started on your creative journey.

DATE: Monday 15th July TIME: 12:30pm LOCATION: Studio A We will be hosting a meeting to see how many students would be interested in a potential school trip to the Berlin International Film (Berlinale) festival next year, in Spring 2025. Organised by Mark de Valk and Conrad Pollock, this trip will offer you the chance to get to the heart of both the European Film Industry and one of the world's coolest, most vibrant cities. The Berlinale is one of the most prestigious film festivals active today, and you'll be exposed to new releases from around the world, make international connections and get to explore a European capital that's rich in history and culture. Currently we are looking at 5 days and 4 nights overall, with group travel and accommodation together. If you are interested, please join us for this meeting. This trip is open to all CFS students on all courses, and booking will likely take place in Autumn term. Please note, the trip's viability is subject to a minimum number of sign-ups (amount tbc).

WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT, HAVE MORE ENERGY AND FEEL MORE HAPPY? The Menopause Lifestyle Project is a group programme and an opportunity to work with me in person, in the studio. The 4 week course is educational and will introduce you to what menopause is, why it happens, symptoms related to it and how you can best manage your lifestyle during this period.
