Overview
This course is aimed at candidates that require the knowledge and practical skills to prepare, attach, guide and move suspended loads using a range of lifting accessories. It will enable the candidate to carry out their duties while complying with LOLER regulations.
Course Content
Candidates will be able to:
Understand the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a Slinger Signaller
Conform to relevant regulations, legislation and manufacturers requirements as per technical data
Locate, identify and explain different types of lifting equipment and lifting accessories.
Explain their basic construction, uses, applications and their functions
Interpret and extract information on all relevant documentation
Undertake all pre-use checks on non-specialist lifting accessories and identify non-serviceable items

NPORS Appointed Person (N401)

What does this course cover?
This is an online course for developing history leadership in primary teaching. This term, we will be piloting the course as an immersive programme covering the key elements of primary history subject leadership, enabling all involved in history leadership at primary to carry out their role effectively.
How is this course structured and delivered?
The course will take place in ten online sessions from January–May 2025. Sessions 1, 8 and 10 are compulsory to attend live. Participants will be required to complete a gap task after each session and contribute to an online reflection diary.
The other sessions will be recorded for participants to work through at their convenience, though participants are encouraged to attend the recording sessions live in order to make the most of the programme. All recordings will be made available on the course Moodle page within two working days of the live recording session.
Who is this course for? 
This programme is designed for anyone who is a subject coordinator or subject leader for history in their primary school. You may have just been appointed as a subject leader, or be more experienced but looking for formal training or fresh inspiration and direction.

The origins of microneedling and development of PRP, evolution of treatments, types of equipment and range of applications. Historical perspective and modern day examples of PRP therapies.


M05 – Health & Safety & IPC
H&S legislation, Standard Precautions (for blood borne pathogens), Pathogen types, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Handwashing and Hygiene, Hazardous Waste Disposal (non-specific), Preventing Needlestick Injuries. A detailed look at viruses, bacteria and fungi. Handling clients with infectious conditions and infestations. Transmission modes. Sterilisation processes in the workplace, including autoclaves.

M09 – Environmental and Sustainable Work Practices
Sustainability in the workplace. Running an efficient salon (water efficiency, waste reduction, interior fittings). Advancements including digital options (clients and suppliers).


M10 – Anatomy & Physiology
A&P for collagen induction therapy. Veins, arteries and capillaries (phlebotomy overview). The integumentary system – structure and function. Microneedling – depths and penetration. The lymphatic system. The circulatory system. Skin as a defence barrier. Skin – functions and layers. Merkel cells, Langerhans Cells, Keratinocytes and Melanocytes. The epidermal-melanin unit. Part 1) Pre-recorded Lectures (21.5 hours): The pre-recorded lecture videos will be made available four weeks (6 weeks for early registrants) prior to the course start date, allowing participants to study the material at their own pace. While the videos remain accessible for an additional three weeks starting from the live sessions, it is recommended that participants complete the lectures before the live meetings, which are designed to focus on questions and practical exercises.
Part 2) Live Sessions (19.5 hours): The live classes are spread over three days and consists of the following:
Summary and Recap: Barbara, the instructor, will provide a brief summary and recap of each topic covered in the pre-recorded lectures. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions related to the specific topic being discussed.
Guided Practical Work: Participants will be given dedicated time to work on guided practical exercises either individually or in breakout rooms. These exercises will involve utilizing Stata or R software to implement each evaluation method to real data.
Live Demonstration: Barbara will conduct a live demonstration of the practical exercise using Stata. She will guide participants through the process, explaining each step and discussing the key aspects of the exercise.

Our courses are social and interactive whether delivered online or in-person. Our aim is to introduce and build crafting skills and the basic skills needed for success in the workplace and at home, including self-confidence, problem solving, communicating in a group, basic maths and English. We teach over 45 different paper craft and mixed media techniques. Each course is carefully constructed to help you develop your crafting skills and knowledge.
Crafting and our courses are mindful, taking us away from the day-to-day. Participants have consistently reported improvements in their wellbeing. Anyone who wants to learn new skills can join our programmes. No previous experience of papercrafting or mixed media work is needed.
