About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) The 5 half-day Piping Stress Engineering Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course will systematically expose participants to: The theory and practice of piping stress engineering, with special reference to ASME B 31.1 and ASME B 31.3 Standards. The basic principles and theories of stress and strain and piping stress engineering, through a series of lessons, case study presentations, in-class examples, multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and mandatory exercises. Principal stresses and shear stresses which form the backbone of stress analysis of a material. Expressions for these quantities will be derived using vector algebra from fundamentals. Thermal stress-range, sustained and occasional stresses, code stress equations, allowable stresses, how to increase flexibility of a piping system, cold spring. The historical development of computational techniques from hand calculations in the 1950s to the present-day software. Training Objectives On completion of this VILT course, participants will be able to: Identify potential loads the piping systems and categorise the loads to primary and secondary. Determine stresses that develop in a pipe due to various types of loads and how to derive stress-load relationships, starting from scratch. Treat the primary and secondary stresses in piping system in line with the intent of ASME Standards B 31.1 and B 31.3 and understand how the two codes deal with flexibility of piping systems, concepts of self-springing and relaxation/shake down, displacement stress range and fatigue, what is meant by code compliance. Understand the principles of flexibility analysis, piping elements and their individual effects, flexibility factor, flexibility characteristic, bending of a curved beam and importance of virtual length of an elbow in the flexibility of a piping system. Learn stress intensification factors of bends, branch connections and flanges. Understand how the stresses in the material should be controlled for the safety of the piping system, the user and the environment. Examine how codes give guidance to determine allowable stresses, stress range reduction due to cyclic loading, and effects sustained loads have on fatigue life of piping. Confidently handle terminal forces and moments on equipment. Understand the supplementary engineering standards required to establish acceptance of the equipment terminal loads and what can be done when there are no engineering standard governing equipment terminal loads is available and learn the techniques of local stress analysis. Get a thorough understanding of the concepts and the rules established by the ASME B 31.1 and ASME B 31.3 Standards. Perform flange load analysis calculations based on Kellogg's Equivalent Pressure method & Nuclear Code method. Perform the same using a piping stress analysis software and check for flange stresses and leakage. Confidently undertake formal training of piping stress analysis using any commercial software, with a clear understanding of what happens within the software rather than a 'blind' software training and start the journey of becoming a specialist piping stress engineer. About this training Mature fields differ from green field developments in that major infrastructure is in place, static reservoir data has accumulated from development drilling and a growing volume of production and processing performance data has become available. Decisions therefore relate to incremental projects, which may be small in scope and are often economically marginal. A firm understanding of the technical fundamentals associated with reservoir, wells and surface facilities is therefore required to make quality decisions in this environment, supported by realistic uncertainty ranges, and consistent application of incremental project economics and risk analysis. Various strategies may be considered to manage the mature asset, from harvest to divest, and the selected incremental activities should support a clear chosen strategy. Training Objectives Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Characterize the overall challenges associated with mature field developments Evaluate critical insights from subsurface data and apply this to modelling options and recovery methods Assess associated well data, typical late life issues and drilling and completion options for mature developments Manage the role of risk and uncertainty when making mature field development planning decisions Prepare a strategy and implementation plan Target Audience The course is intended for individuals who play a part in evaluating, screening and maturing oil and gas field development opportunities. The following personnel will benefit from the knowledge shared in this course: Petroleum engineers Geoscientist Facilities engineers Commercial staffs Reservoir engineer Production engineer Drilling engineer Project manager Asset manager Field engineer Exploration manager Course Level Basic or Foundation Trainer Your expert course leader, boasts nearly four decades of experience in the upstream oil & gas industry. He began his career in the back in 1982, spending 13 years with Shell International across several global locations. During his tenure, he served primarily as a reservoir engineer, contributing to exploration prospect evaluation, field development planning, corporate business planning, and drilling operations. Throughout his career, he has executed a diverse range of reservoir engineering projects for multiple UK and international firms, and has successfully led several PE study teams. Furthermore, he has continuously provided reservoir engineering and commercial training to oil company staff on a national and international scale. This is course will give you EVERYTHING you need to become a VTCT Level 2 Qualified Skin Specialist. Why do you need THIS course? Previously the beauty industry had very lax regulation and you could start your business with just CPD accreditation. However, insurance companies are now looking for qualifications like VTCT as these are a set standard that require assignments and exams at a very minimum of Level 2. This means a combination of both VTCT and CPD means your business will meet industry standards What is the difference between CPD and VTCT? Qualifications are listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which is the national framework of UK qualifications, and the certificate of achievement is issued by an Awarding Organisation. Your certificate means you are ‘qualified’ in that subject CPD is a piece of training developed by an individual or organisation that sits outside the regulated qualifications framework. It confers a skill not a qualification. Treatments such as dermaplaning can only be completed as a CPD therefore a combination of both VTCT and CPD will increase your revenue. If you prefer one treatment at a time then we offer this too. You can find all our courses here Please confirm dates and availability with us prior to purchasing Who Is This Course Suitable For? This course is perfect for those who are beginners with no experience. However, the course can be tailored for those who have partial qualifications/ accreditation and would like to become a qualified Level 2 practitioner. About this Training Course This 5 full-day course is aimed at engineers and supervisors who already have a basic understanding of well construction methods but who would benefit from a more detailed knowledge of completion design. The course will concentrate on the important aspects of completion design and what makes a safe and efficient well. A common thread of practical examples will be used throughout the course in the form of a case study or 'red-thread' exercise. The case study is based around data all taken from a single field where those attending will work through all the basic issues of a completion design. The exercises associated with the case study is performed in the student's own time after each of the formal sessions. However, at the start of the next day, the case study is reviewed and discussed. The whole case study will continue through all sessions, with each element being reviewed at the start of the next session. There is no 'right' answer to the exercise - producing interesting discussions! The purpose of the course is not to go over specific equipment in detail. Teaching methods include presentations, videos, and animations and the case study. The course will cover: Types and configurations of completions The completion design process Inflow performance, skin and formation damage Perforating; selection, deployment and interface with rest of completion Stimulation and impact on completion and flow performance with coverage of modern horizontal multifrac tools Open hole, non-sand control completions including open hole packers and horizontal well clean up Sand control; when do you need it, basic types and selection guidelines.
