Our *NEW* Mini First Aid Baby Proofing class is our second class, designed for parents and carers of babies and children over 3 months. This course is an absolute must for preventing accidents in the home – very sadly, in 2020 over 60,000 children were admitted into hospital in the UK after a preventable accident. Parents and carers lead such busy lives that we are often just a bit of good luck away from a hair straightener burn, a fall down the stairs or a choking incident while your back is turned. Baby proofing will teach you how to prevent these accidents from happening, as well as giving you a first aid refresh on how to deal with burns and choking.
The 2-hour Baby Proofing class is Accredited by the Global Alliance for Child Safety. Mini First Aid Baby Proofing follows on perfectly from our parent and carer first aid class and is available at public venues or a private class at home.

St Joseph’s School, Wetherby (Early Years class) Our Nursery class love to get involved in whole-school curriculum enrichment activities but First Aid for 3-4 year olds? One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! This Emergency Paediatric First Aid course serves as Unit 1 of the full qualification, and upon completion, you can proceed to complete Unit 2 to receive the full Paediatric First Aid Award.
Our first aid courses adhere strictly to the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines, fulfilling HSE requirements. Recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualifications, our Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are your assurance of quality.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid 6 hours (VTQ) Level 3 - EPFA

Who is this for?
This qualification is typically delivered over 1 day. It is for those working in lower risk workplaces, or higher risk workplaces with a small number of staff and visitors.
The qualification is open to those over 14 years of age, however only those over 16 can act as a sole first aider within the workplace.

This qualification has been developed to meet the first aid training requirements outlined by the H.S.E.
