We equip them with the skills and confidence to take control and give engaging, memorable and effective performances in which they deliver their key messages, no matter what the circumstances. Highly interactive and practical, each course includes a series of realistic print, radio and television exercises with experienced journalists. We provide immediate feedback following each interview, including techniques for improvement, advice about potential answers and the framing of key messages. The perfect Mother's Day gift! On the very cusp of British Summertime starting we’ll be spending an appropriately colourful afternoon steeped in drawing/painting Spring Flowers. The studio will be full of plants such as mini iris, grape hyacinths, tulips, primroses and daffodils. There will be cut flowers in still-life arrangements and a wealth of beautiful photo references to work from too. We’ll take inspiration from Scottish Colourist Samuel John Peploe’s tulip paintings amid an immersive, fun afternoon of Spring botanicals. All levels of artistic abilities are embraced in this workshop so it’s a great opportunity to try out a class with plant-lady tutor Suzanne Gibson. All materials and refreshments will be provided - including cake and a complimentary glass of fizz. Minimum class numbers apply.

This course has been designed to guide the complete beginner or act as a refresher for those who may have dabbled in Blackwork embroidery in the past. We will cover the history, styles of Blackwork embroidery, threads and techniques.

Ideal as an introduction to working with clay using a selection of approaches. About this Event Cyan Clayworks is an artist-run, non profit studio and teaching space. This three hour introductory class is suitable for adult beginners, and will focus on tile making, press moulded dishes and wheel throwing. Each student will be introduced to the basics of throwing; centering the clay, and forming a small vessel each. You will be able to create a small group of unique textured and coloured slip decorated tiles and a pressmoulded dish using one of our moulds. Limited class sizes with both Fiona and Chris teaching so lots of hands on support! You will be given one to one support while on the wheel. Your work will be trimmed (wheelthrown pots), fired and glazed ready to collect a few weeks later. You'll be notified by email and will then have a month to collect your pieces. £60 per person, inclusive of booking fee, materials, preparation, glazing and firings.
