Make a gorgeous mosaic mirror with local maker Jacky Cox from Mossy Mosaic. 

You will learn how to safely cut reclaimed china using a wheeled nipper. 

Applying a 'crazy paving' method you'll form your pieces into a creation to be proud of! 

There will be lots of lovely china for you to choose from, or you can bring your own special (perhaps broken) cups, saucers or plates to use in your mirror design. 

Jacky will guide you through every stage of the process, including how to grout your finished piece. 

If you have previously attended one of Jacky's workshops and are confident using a wheeled nipper you may decide to be more adventurous in your cutting technique: additional guidance will be provided for anyone at an intermediate level.

<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">On this one-day Introduction to silver clay jewellery making workshop - suitable for beginners or those that have attended our silver jewellery taster workshop and wish to develop their skills - you will create three different pieces of jewellery.<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Using silver clay, a material made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water that can easily be used at home with little need for equipment, your expert tutor, Edinburgh-based jeweller Anna Campbell, will take you through all the steps needed to create your own pieces ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (at home a cr&egrave;me brul&eacute; torch will also do the job). The resulting pieces are silver of hallmark quality - modern-day alchemy!<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">The projects you will make during this one-day workshop include a pair of earrings, a stone-set pendant and a moulded charm. You will learn how to make your own silicone mould to use with silver clay so if you have any small charms, shells, buttons and so on you would like to bring along to mould please do! Discover the art of silver clay: a one day beginner’s workshop with 3 creative projects.
Step into the world of jewellery making with this hands-on beginner-friendly workshop, where you’ll create three unique pieces of silver jewellery from scratch!
Over the course of this workshop day, you’ll explore the versatility of silver clay and handmake three stunning projects, each designed to teach you essential skills while sparking your creativity.
What is silver metal clay?
Silver clay is a material manufactured from 100% recycled silver, a plant-based organic binder and water. The silver is recycled from X-rays, the photographic industry, electronics, and the like. You don’t need a lot of tools and equipment to get started and all pieces made on this workshop can be fired with a creme brule torch.
Here’s what you’ll learn and create on this workshop:
Design and craft a pair of earrings (or pendant/charm). Start your journey by designing and crafting a personalized pair of earrings. Don’t have pierced ears? No problem! You can choose to make a beautiful pendant or a bracelet charm instead. Learn how to work with silver clay, texture and shape your pieces and what is possible with this material. 
Make your own custom silicone mould and silver clay charm. Discover the magic of mould-making as you create your very own silicone mould from any object of your choice. You can bring small items of your own e.g. buttons, charms, shells etc or choose from the large selection we have for you! You’ll then use this mould to create a unique silver clay charm, adding a truly personal touch to your jewellery. This technique opens up endless possibilities for future designs.
Craft a gorgeous stone-set pendant. Add a touch of elegance to your jewellery with a stone setting. In this project, you’ll design a stunning pendant and learn how to set a fireable gemstone into silver clay, adding a touch of colour to your design. You will also learn more about which gemstones can be set in silver clay. 
Throughout the workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step by Anna Campbell, one of the leading metal clay teachers in the UK, making this a fun and accessible class for complete beginners. You’ll leave with three pieces of handmade jewellery, new skills, and a strong foundation in working with silver clay.

Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.

Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.

The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. <p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">The workshop will start with the basic principles and techniques of macram&eacute;, allowing you to build your confidence by creating small projects such as a key ring, before moving on to designing and creating your plant hanger, bespoke wall hanging, or bag.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Once you feel more confident, you will learn how to calculate rope lengths and plan designs to create your chosen hand-crafted macram&eacute; project&nbsp;using 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines. A helpful instruction manual will be provided to guide you through your project.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">If you opt for the plant hanger project your workshop will finish after 3 hours. Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.
Allergies
The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Macramé Your Way

<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">On this silver clay jewellery taster workshop, you will create a pendant and/or pair of earrings from hallmark-quality silver with specialist, Edinburgh-based jeweller Anna Campbell.&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">You will learn how to make jewellery out of a material called silver clay, which is made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water. Silver clay requires with very little equipment so it&#39;s perfect for those wanting to learn a new skill they can easily do at home.<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">You will be taken through all the steps to create your own piece ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (but a cr&egrave;me brul&eacute; torch will do the trick!). You&rsquo;ll then polish your silver jewellery ready to take home.<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">&nbsp;<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">This taster class is perfect for giving you an idea of the possibilities of this unique material. Silver clay is a material manufactured from 100% recycled silver, a plant-based organic binder and water. The silver is recycled from X-rays, the photographic industry, electronics, and the like. You don’t need a lot of tools and equipment to get started, and all pieces made on this workshop can be fired with a creme brûlée torch. 
You also take all the lovely products you have created home with you on the day, and workshop correspondence and notes are sent to you electronically.

The Arienas Collective workshops, courses and events are run from a welcoming and supportive environment within a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s City Centre New Town. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind and immerse yourself in being creative.
Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.
Allergies
The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Or check in before booking.
Private workshop bookings
Most of our workshops are also available to book for: private get-togethers with family and friends; themed wedding and birthday celebrations; corporate team building and well-being purposes; and in-store retail events for your customers. If you’d like to know more please Email Lynn.

Hannah is keen to see commercial fiction across the board, but with a particular focus on romance, Science Fiction/Fantasy & mystery novels. But don't let your characterisation overshadow the need for impeccable plot and if you can make her laugh or cry then you're onto a winner! 

Across the full light-dark spectrum Hannah especially loves SFF that features an unlikely band of heroes, like the Six of Crows series by Leigh Bardugo, Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastard series, Becky Chambers' The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, T. Kingfisher's Nettle and Bone,and  the cosy themes/settings offered by Heather Fawcett and TJ Klune.

Hannah's advice is make sure you have a clear USP and hook: If you are sending your reader to a magical academy, or if we're riding dragons or waving wands, that's great! But what makes your book feel different and fresh? An excellent voice is key, but what else makes your take on these tropes stand out? An example of a phenomenal book that has turned the magical academy trope on its head, with layers of excellent world building, a unique magic system and plot twists galore is The Will of the Many by James Islington. If you have something crafted this beautifully then Hannah wants to see it!

Romantasy of varying spice levels, accessible to both romance and fantasy readers, is on Hannah's wishlist. And you can whisk her away with contemporary romance novels, romcoms, sweeping love stories that redefine the genre. Romcoms with great disability rep and LGBTQIA+ stories that focus on the joy of falling in love are high on Hannah's agenda. She particularly loves Emily Henry, Laura Wood and Abby Jiminez. Think more Nicholas Sparks than Sally Rooney, and Bonnie Garmus rather than Gabrielle Zevin. In this space, she is a big fan of Emma Donoghue, Bonnie Garmus and Jojo Moyes.

Meet with Hannah to discuss your crime and high-concept thrillers with an unsettling ‘it-could-happen-to-me’ feeling, coupled with a twist that's unseen until its delivery. The book she most wants to find in this space is something like Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton in both its themes (real-world emotional suspense) and its execution. A mystery series that feels like a real 'romp' is something she loves to escape with too.

Emily MacDonald joined 42 management and production company in 2019, working with Eugenie Furniss across her clients. She is now an agent in the Books Department, and is building her own list.

Send Emily a story with characters that just won't leave her and a narrative that pulls her in, keeping her immersed in the world well after she has finished reading. She reads across a wide-range and has a particular interest in: book club, high-concept crime/thriller, upmarket and literary fiction. 

In fiction, Emily would love to find a crime/thriller set within a subcult: a modern retelling of British folklore (think Kamila Shamsie’s Home Fire); an unconventional love story; and a character led journey of self-discovery (especially one set within a diasporic community). 

Emily is also looking for narrative non-fiction which immerses the reader into an untold true story (personal or historical), exploring a new point of view, and providing a compelling social commentary, with an investigative twist. Think the obsessive vein of Kirk W. Johnson or personal/political dispatches of Aidan Hartley. Emily wants her horizons to expand while she reads.

In both fiction and non-fiction, Emily loves stories woven into their surroundings, where the setting is as central a character as those who drive the narrative.

How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

OR -

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. You have the option to add a classroom-based competency session, awarding a CPD Accredited Geopace Certificate of Competency, at time of booking.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. Phlebotomy Training - Beginner to Advanced PACKAGE

Master plant tinctures are sacred, natural extracts derived from powerful Amazonian plants, each carrying unique healing properties. 

Used traditionally in shamanic practices, these tinctures provide a gentle, yet profound way to heal, release emotional blockages, and restore physical vitality. 

Instructions:
1. Dosage & Absorption
Empty Stomach for Optimal Absorption: Take your tincture on an empty stomach, ideally at least 30 minutes before eating or 2 hours after your last meal. This enhances absorption and allows the plant’s energy to work more directly.
Sublingual Method (Under the Tongue): Place the recommended number of drops directly under your tongue and hold them there for about 1-2 minutes before swallowing. This method allows the plant’s essence to enter your bloodstream more quickly and efficiently.
Swallowing & Following with Water: If needed, you can follow with a sip of water or herbal tea, but avoid strong flavours that might interfere with the plant’s subtle energy.
2. Dietary Considerations
Avoid heavy, overly processed, or highly stimulating foods (e.g., caffeine, sugar, alcohol, or spicy foods) before and after taking the tincture, as they may interfere with the plant’s effects.
Simple, grounding meals such as lightly cooked vegetables, whole grains, and herbal teas, support a clearer connection to the plant.
If fasting or eating lightly while working with the tincture, listen to your body’s signals and adjust as needed.
3. Setting an Intention
Focused Approach: Working with one plant tincture for 1-2 weeks with a clear intention allows for a deeper relationship with the plant’s wisdom. Reflect on what you’re calling in whether it’s emotional healing, clarity, protection, or insight.

Pay attention to how your body, emotions, and energy respond. If you feel resistance or discomfort, pause and reflect on what the plant might be showing you.
