Kids love our after school clubs. Parents do too. At Trinity After School Club we are proud of the exciting and stimulating childcare we offer. We understand each child is different and that they want to get involved in different things. Every day there are planned arts and crafts activities, outdoor games, and quiet time for reading or to do homework. All the children get involved in planning the activities and outings at the after school clubs. They bring new ideas or develop initiatives suggested by the staff. The kids make sure we do interesting things and get involved in the community – from a tooth brushing project, writing a song and a performance on anti-bullying to building relationships with a local elderly residential care home. We make sure there is plenty of variety. Our experienced staff encourage an all-inclusive environment where consideration for others is paramount. Policies and procedures are in place to cover all aspects of childcare to reassure parents and guardians that we have their children's interests at heart. Flexibility of care is important to parents and guardians and we offer full-time (5 days per week) and part-time places (2, 3 or 4 days per week), and we operate a Crocodile Club for P1 and P2 children who finish earlier. We cover most holidays and in-service days and our team plan ahead with the children to offer a great range of holiday activities.

The staff caring for the babies are selected for their experience and we look for warm, mature and confident people who can give expert and professional care, responding quickly and accurately to meet the needs of the very young child. The external and in-house training is to enhance our staff member’s already considerable skills. They learn about caring for different age groups, promoting positive behaviours, promoting development through play, baby care and working in partnership with parents, child protection and first aid.

Situated on Academy Lane we have access to safe, traffic free, public footpaths and cycle ways to allow our children and staff safe trips out in to the local community. At Scallywags we are firm believers that children “Learn through play” and therefor offer a vast array of activities for children of all ages. With safety always being a top priority at Scallywags we have installed a camera buzzer entry system to the building and secure keypad entry systems to each playroom ensuring staff and children remain safe at all times. Your child will be cared for in welcoming surroundings harmonising closely with your normal daily routine. Our caring and energetic staff provide a stimulating environment to encourage your child’s development, noting each milestone along the way in your child’s Learning Journal. We pride ourselves on working with the local community and currently have a spare room in the nursery which will allow us to hold extra-curricular classes accessible to children attending Scallywags Loanhead.
