A whole day of workshops for groups of pupils throughout your school, delivered by a dedicated ally of disabled people. Engaging and thought-provoking, these workshops are a must for schools that want to challenge prejudice and promote disability equality. How many workshops will you deliver? We can deliver up to six workshops in a day. How many pupils should there be in each group? The workshops are interactive, so they are more effective with groups of around 20 pupils. We are often asked to work with larger groups and this still generates excellent feedback from pupils and staff. What year groups are these workshops for? The workshops are suitable for all year groups in primary and secondary schools; we adapt the content and presentation according to the age of pupils. Does a member of staff need to stay with the group? Yes, we ask that a member of staff is present at each workshop. Will you need any equipment? We ask for a computer, projector and access to the internet. Pupils will need a pen to write with. How are the workshops evaluated? At the end of each workshop we ask all (except the youngest) pupils to write down if they have found it helpful or not and why; we may also offer them an opportunity to ask a question anonymously.If schools have opted for this (please see optional extras below) we will send the school written responses to questions and a transcript of pupils’ feedback as evidence of impact. About this training course This 5-days comprehensive training course provides not only an introduction into the issues associated with the development of the pipeline transportation of CO2 from its Capture, it's transportation, storage and usage but also provides an in depth understanding of the issues to be considered in the development, design and operations of these pipelines. The theme throughout this training course is CO2 Flow Assurance and Innovative Technologies. Each training day will consist of lectures in the morning and a hands-on workshop in the afternoon. The workshop allows the participants to appreciate the design process associated with CO2 transport and its operations. Various software will be available during the workshop to predict thermo hydraulics and associated phase flows through CO2 pipelines and the attached infrastructure. Further software to assess surge and environmental safety will also be available. The CO2 pipeline design approach will consider an integrated solution through modelling the CO2 capture system as well as the host storage facility. The participants will have a total appreciation of the methodology required to develop a CO2 transportation system and have an understanding of all of the Flow Assurance, risks, and operating issues and technology requirements. Training Objectives After the completion of this training course, participants will be able to: Understand the process required and identify data to analyse Flow Assurance for CO2 pipeline transport Review and Identify the Flow Assurance issues required to be evaluated for CO2 pipeline transport design and operations methodology. Start this class as a beginner and leave as a glass making addict. In this full-day workshop, you will learn each step of the glass blowing process from experienced and encouraging glassmaking experts in their inspiring studio!  With all of the materials, supplies and equipment needed to make your own glass provided in this workshop, learning to blow glass couldn’t be easier.  You will be part of a small group of 4-6 people with up to two tutors. Although you’re building your technical skills, there’s still room in this workshop for creativity- after all you're learning from top glass blowing artists! With all the colours you could dream of, get experimental and let your imagination take the reins to style your glass. In the beginning of this workshop, you will learn how to prepare different colour and texture techniques to apply to your glass pieces.  You will be able to make a bowl or paperweight and choose a final form from the following list of functional objects: - Drinking glass - Vase - Decorative bauble Master how to safely and confidently heat molten glass in a 1100 degree furnace which you will then gather and remove from the furnace using historical hand forged tools. Make sure you’re full of hot air for the next step! Once you have perfected removing your glass from the furnace, it’s time to learn how to sculpt and blow your own glass.  After a hard and hot graft it’s time to chill out! Cooling your glass is equally as fascinating and important as heating your glass, at the end of the workshop you will learn how to safely and properly cool your glass like a professional.  Many students learn best through a combination of demonstrations as well as a hands-on interactive teaching approach. This workshop is no exception! You will watch a demonstration then safely learn more about each step in the glass blowing process through having a go yourself. Not only will you get to take your three perfect and personalised glass pieces home at the end of the workshop, you will also be leaving with a full understanding of the glass making process and techniques as well as a burning hunger to create more gorgeous glass.
