the mental wealth project
London
Mental WealthThe Mental Wealth Project is a mental health literacy education
programme for young people. The aim is to equip young people and their families
with knowledge, tools and skills to reduce stigma, improve wellbeing, spot
warning signs of mental distress, and enhance access to the right care and
support when they need it. Le Va delivers tailored face-to-face workshops in
secondary schools, sports-clubs, churches and other community settings. This
Mental Wealth website was designed to complement these workshops. Because the
online world is a significant community for young people, The Mental Wealth
Project also includes social media and gaming as important things that can
impact on mental health and wellbeing. The team at Le Va co-designed and tested
the programme over 2 years (2017-2018) with young people, Pasifika and Māori
rangatahi, parents, teachers, secondary schools, rugby league clubs, sports
coaches, clinicians, mental health organisations, gamers, suicide prevention
specialists and cultural knowledge holders. Working together
