Online group class (between 4 and 8 participants). - Duration of the course is 8 weeks, 1.5h/week, so a total of 12h. - Classes are held on Thursdays between 6.30-8pm. - All materials are included in the price of the course. - A 30-min online catch-up session is also included in the price of your course, so if you miss a class you can schedule this with your teacher to go over the content that was covered and ensure you stay on track. - The price of the full 12h course if £160, which works out as £13/h. This course is right for you if... - You have zero or very little knowledge of Spanish (yes, even if you can order a drink or two and ask for the bill!) - You can say and understand some words in Spanish but can't really string a sentence together. - You would like to learn enough Spanish to have basic conversations while on holiday and be able to go to a restaurant or visit a place without worrying that they won't speak English. - You feel that you should 'make an effort' to learn Spanish since you travel to Spain so often you could be fluent by now. Please bear in mind that this is a practical course and you will be required to spend most of the classes practicing the vocabulary and structures we learn and therefore, speaking in Spanish!

This level is the first step for any person who is interested in learning the English language. It is especially useful for students who have never had any sort of experience in studying the language or those who have a very basic knowledge and understanding of the language.

Historical Association webinar series: History and literacy: better together Presenter: Andrew Wrenn This practical webinar will guide teachers on how to devise rigorous historical enquiry questions, how to spot and weed out weak ones, and how to sequence them in an effective way across medium-term plans. It will show how disciplinary concepts can be revisited and pupils supported in the careful accumulation of substantive knowledge, adding to their schema progressively over time.

IELTS Level 6-7 prepares you for the IELTS exam aiming at Levels 6 or 7. You train in the Language and Techniques that will help you pass the exam.

Beginners language course to introduce yourself to the Spanish language

Aimed at those who already speak Spanish but haven't practiced in a while or have lost their confidence in their ability to communicate in Spanish. During this single three-hour session, we will be meeting in the charming streets of Edinburgh, where we'll embark on a leisurely walk (weather permitting) and indulge in some wonderful Spanish tapas. As we stroll and enjoy some food, we'll refresh your Spanish skills, covering all the essential vocabulary and structures you're likely to use during your upcoming holiday. One non-alcoholic drink of your choice is included in the price of the course, however food isn't (but the tapas are worth every penny!). We offer flexible location options – just let us know your preference. You will leave feeling confident, motivated and ready to speak Spanish while abroad. *If you would like to take part in this session with your partner or a friend, you can do so! There is a £20 charge per additional participant, with a maximum of three participants per session including yourself. If you wish to book for more than one person, just proceed with the booking as normal and then let us know in the notes and we will contact you shortly to arrange payment for the additional participants.

Now that the course has started verifications will take place every Tuesday and access granted to the module at this point. If the booking is received after 12pm on a Tuesday access will be granted the following week. 2025 is the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War – a conflict that defined the twentieth century and still has an influence on relationships and attitudes today. In this course we welcome academics from institutions across the UK and abroad to contribute to a series of lectures and discussions on aspects of the Second World War. This is not a course about battles but rather about how people engaged with the conflict in different regions, exploring political motivations, cultural responses and social impacts and legacies.
