Integrated care is about removing traditional divisions between services so people and communities get the support and care that they need. Health and care services in Norfolk and Waveney have been working together closely over the past few years to improve services and provide more joined up care for local people. In Norfolk and Waveney, we have already achieved a lot by working in partnership; this has been strengthened through our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These changes have been made possible by different organisations – NHS hospitals, GPs, mental health and community health services, local councils, care homes and social workers, voluntary and community organisations and others – joining forces to agree and plan for local people’s needs. As a result of the new Health and Care Act, the Norfolk and Waveney ICS has legal status and includes a statutory Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), and a new Integrated Care Board (ICB) called NHS Norfolk and Waveney, which will replace the area’s clinical commissioning group (CCG). This is a new and exciting way of working, creating a genuine partnership that will make a positive difference to local people and help join up health and social care. This is the culmination of many years of effort to build partnership working across the NHS, local authorities, the third sector and patient groups. We’ve already made significant progress in Norfolk and Waveney over the last few years to improve care and provide more joined up services. The move to integrated care gives us the opportunity to work even more closely with our residents and communities. Working together in partnership we can really help improve the health and wellbeing of people in Norfolk and Waveney and support our brilliant front-line staff.

Our programme has been developed in consultation and collaboration with the sector. It is flexible, responds to need and is designed for museums of all sizes. East Anglian Air Ambulance has achieved some fantastic milestones over the past twenty years, none of which would have been possible without our supporters. Thank youFollowing an urgent fundraising appeal in May, EAAA is now able to permanently carry packed red blood cells and freeze-dried plasma on every mission. Blood transfusions ensure that the most gravely injured patients suffering a major bleed have the best chance of getting to hospital through increasing oxygen delivery and clot production. EAAA’s Blood on Board project has involved raising in excess of £90,000 and essential partnership working between two of the region’s hospitals, Addenbrooke’s and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), and two volunteer-driven blood biker charities, SERV Suffolk and Cambridgeshire and Norfolk Blood Bikes, to ensure a high-quality, daily supply of red blood cells to each of the EAAA operational bases.

Established in 2015 by Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, Norfolk Safety CIC aims to Improve Safety and Reduce Risk by raising awareness and confidence through the delivery of practical based safety training across Norfolk. Practical – Implementable – Accessible – Relevant – Confidence Building Our courses are taught in a way that means the skills acquired are easily embedded in your daily life, helping course attendees feel safer and gain the confidence and understanding required to protect themselves and others. “97.8% of course delegates would now take an active role to improve safety at work.” Norfolk Safety CIC has delivered training to over 11,000 people across the County and beyond. Attendees can join an open course or we have the ability to offer bespoke closed courses for private, public, education and third sector organisations – ensuring we meet the individual organisation and environmental requirements. Training is provided as standard or as bespoke packages in the areas of Fire, First Aid, Health & Safety, Risk Assessment and CPR. We are a Community Interest Company and operate as the commercial trading arm of the Norfolk Fire Service. Our profits are ring fenced and reinvested in community interest projects such as youth engagement/development and fire prevention/awareness activities for the elderly and vulnerable.
