ndate Systems Ltd was formed in 1991, initially providing Written Schemes of Examination (WSE), and helping companies to comply with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) set out by the Health and Safety Executive(HSE). Major expansion from 2000 enabled Mandate to take advantage of a gap in the market and progress to providing a full comprehensive solution for the pressure industry including consultation, auditing, technical manuals, statutory Pressure System examinations and training. From 2000 technological developments were made by moving away from paper to CD manuals, followed by progressing to emails in 2003, and online documentation by 2005. With over 25 years experience in compressed air, we have used our vast knowledge to be the frontrunner in new technologies, most recently moving reports from paper based to the cloud; Since 2017 all of the reports and documents produced by Mandate are now held in an innovative cloud-based system, streamlining and expediting the whole process. We have recently been thrilled to bring to the market PressureSafe – a new concept that is revolutionising the industry. Over time we have assisted over 5000 customers with PSSR and produced over 9000 Technical Pressure System Safety Manuals, including Written Schemes of Examination (WSE). With a multitude of customers ranging from the Ministry of Defence, Blue Chip PLC’s, and the Emergency services to small garages and dentists, we comprehensively produce WSE’s and carrying out legal examinations on many gases, mixed gas, compressed air and steam systems varying from 0.5bar +. Our dedicated team have many years of experience in this area of Health & Safety, with our head of engineering qualified to CEng and a member of the IMechE and IMarEST. The Huddersfield Town Foundation was officially launched in July 2012 by then Huddersfield Town Chairman, Dean Hoyle. The launch of the Foundation created further initiatives to benefit young people across the Kirklees community, such as trips to the Play-Off Final games at Manchester United’s Old Trafford (May 2011) and Wembley Stadium (May 2012), with almost 2,000 children attending. These trips offered families a rare opportunity to create lasting memories and enjoy the game free of charge, with tickets and travel paid for through fundraising activities such as bike rides from Huddersfield to Wembley, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and ‘It’s a Knockout’. With a remit of improving the lives of young people across the region, the Town Foundation created the ‘Early Kick-Off’ Breakfast Club initiative to ensure that children started their learning day in school with a healthy and nutritious breakfast. The first breakfast club launched at Christchurch Academy in July 2012, with the charity harnessing the football club’s unique position within the community to pull together several charitable businesses to provide this at no cost to the children. The Foundation now proudly facilitates 41 Early Kick Off breakfast clubs across the region and has served well over two million breakfasts to local children. In April 2016, Julian Winter was appointed Chief Executive of Huddersfield Town. With a strong background in football club community operations, and after setting up community departments at Sheffield Wednesday and Watford, Julian was keen for HTAFC to have a strong and thriving community programme, which complimented the existing community offer. In December 2016, the Foundation’s Memorandum and Articles of Association were expanded to reflect a new focus on empowering ‘ONE CLUB ONE COMMUNITY’, irrespective of any protected characteristics. In addition to fundraising activities, the Foundation turned its focus to five key areas: Trust; Sport; Inclusion; Education and Health. In an unforgettable display, David Wagner led Huddersfield Town to victory in the 2017 Championship Play-Off Final and promotion to the Premier League. Working in collaboration with the Football Club, the Foundation has gained access to funding from the Premier League, which has dramatically changed the landscape of our reach within the local community. As demand has grown for products and services, so too has the staff body. The Foundation now employees over twenty staff. The staff team has since moved from working at hot desks dotted around the Club’s training ground, the Millers Oil High Performance Complex to our own office facility situated within Leeds Road Sports Complex. The Huddersfield Town Foundation now strives to use the power of the Football Club to engage, inspire and have a positive impact in our local community. We feel we can have the most impact in four key areas: Learning & Education, Health & Healthy Behaviours, Safe Spaces & Places and Movement & Activity.

In 1968 Denise Keenan from St. Augustine’s Church here in Park Ward, began running a pre-school play group. She and a small team of volunteers extended this to community lunches, English classes and social activities in response to local need. When Calderdale became a dispersal area for people seeking asylum in the early 2000’s we started to support people who had arrived locally to settle into life in the UK. In 2009 St Augustine’s Centre became an independent charity, continually evolving and welcoming all, regardless of faith, ethnicity or background. Now Calderdale’s specialist charity working with people seeking asylum and refugees as well as local people, we have 16 staff, 170 volunteers and a community of 650 individuals and families from 57 countries. We offer specialist advice on immigration and asylum support, and one to one support with welfare, housing, health and access to wider services. We provide hot meals, English language classes, training, cultural, social and wellbeing activities, trips and volunteering opportunities. We offer spaces for reflection and a befriending and integration service. As a core member of the Valley of Sanctuary, we want to share stories and build awareness about the experience for those fleeing war and persecution, advocating and campaigning locally and nationally. 52 years on, Denise still volunteers at St Augustines.

Now joined by several British Cycling coaches, the club offers a variety of training sessions for all disciplines form road, to MTB to track to cyclocross, turbo, rollers and beyond. Our riders range from those who want to have fun on a bike to those who want to race, some of our youth riders have represented the club nationally and even internationally as well as representing Yorkshire at Inter Regional Events.
