I am Jacqui Shankly, and I have worked for over 20 years supporting families with young children. I began working in Early Years community music for the charity sector, working with families throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands. I loved my work, and what fascinated me most was the power of music to stimulate fun, playfulness, conversations and connection between children and their parents and carers. So began a lifetime of interest and research into early childhood development and attachment, culminating in training as a Play Therapist and founding Moonbeams CIC, an organisation dedicated to promoting positive childhood mental health through direct work with children, and support for the adults around them. My passion and joy is working with families. Parents are their child’s first and most enduring teacher, and the family dynamic forms the basis of a child’s future view of the world. Parenting is one of the most demanding jobs in the world, and everyone needs support from time to time. My approach is playful, non-judgemental and supportive. Whether you access individual Play Therapy or Filial Therapy support for your child or a child in your care, , or access one of my online training courses, then I am confident that your connection with your child will grow stronger, and your confidence to support them through life’s challenges will be enhanced.

Chris Bolingbroke - The Teddington Trainer Chris has over 16 years of experience; having worked with some of the largest and most exclusive fitness groups in London. Chris has worked as an independent personal trainer for more than 8 years, offering face to face sessions, as well as online group fitness classes. Acclaimed for his ability for increasing fitness, strength, definition and maneuverability, no matter where you are with your fitness journey. Chris trained as a professional dancer, giving him a great understanding of core technique and a unique technical understanding of the body. Since qualifying as a personal trainer in 2006, Chris has worked for some of the largest Gym groups including Virgin Active, Reebok Gym and the prestigious American fitness company Equinox. Chris is able to put each client at ease, whilst also bringing a great sense of motivation, and energy. Every session is tailored to you, and is relevant to your goals and lifestyle, even outside of the training session. Complimenting his fitness training, Chris also leads the Acrobatic Arts course at the award winning dance school Teddington Dance Studio. Chris has also featured in numerous global commercial and fitness campaigns for the likes of Mens Health, Fitness First, Sports Direct, Virgin Active, Maxi Nutrition, GQ British and Jaguar. Outside of work Chris is an active tennis player, mountain biker and snowboarder.

At the age of three I put on my first dance shoes and no one has been able to get me out of them since! From festivals, competitions, shows, pantomimes, and exams I couldn't get enough. I knew from a young age I wanted to share my passion with the world and therefore was determined to educate myself on how to teach performing arts. There has been much research on the positive effects of music for our health and happiness BBC News reported on research from a University in Montreal Canada (Nature Neuroscience study) 'An experiment by a primary school in England has revealed that music can also help in improving academic performance among pupils. New Delhi: It is no secret that music has therapeutic effect and can help students in combatting stress. Studies have also revealed that music helps in improving concentration.' After successfully completing a PGDE Teaching Qualification in Dance at Liverpool John Moores University as well as a Degree in Dance, Drama and Performing Arts at Edgehill University. I decided to open my own Dance Academy focusing on inclusivity, learning new skills, a love of music and fitness. I pride myself on having an inclusive academy where EVERYONE MATTERS! I continue my professional development in working with children and young people as I am passionate about each of my pupils reaching their individual potential.

Rochdale Connections Trust are the leading independent provider of Domestic Abuse services, family support services and targeted youth support interventions throughout the Borough of Rochdale. We were founded in 1997 by a group of local Youth Court Magistrates concerned by the number of young people coming before them who were disengaged from education with little or no family support. They soon realised that in order to impact effectively the offer of support needed to be extended to incorporate a whole family approach and employed key workers to offer supportive mentoring and bespoke interventions based on identified needs. Volunteer Mentors were recruited and utilised to provide sustained support to clients, most notably troubled adolescents and their families. 25 years after our inception the Charity is deeply embedded in the diverse local communities of Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton and The Pennines townships, particularly those with greatest need. Welcome to the Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu Friendship Association website. Here you can find information about our club and also about the style of Hung Gar Kung Fu we teach. The word kung fu does not actually mean 'martial art', but instead 'skill that is developed through much time and effort', and our style of Hung Gar Kung Fu will require you, as a student, to undertake a certain amount of mental and physical discipline. To develop this you must have a willingness to learn, to discipline yourself, and most importantly be willing to train hard. school gateEach lesson lasts 2 hours and are developed to increase your fitness, health and vitality. You will be taught techniques and forms (set patterns of techniques) as well as developing strength, speed and balance. The Chinese Lion Dance is a large part of our club and you can also, as your training progresses, involve yourself in this aspect of training. Chinese New Year serves as an important time of year for the school. It's a very busy time in which we undertake a huge diversity of shows around the local area performing the lion dance, dragon dance and martial arts displays. My two brothers were call-firefighters in the Town of Auburn, Massachusetts and I was a physical therapist working in the UMass system. My bothers were teaching First aid, CPR classes, part-time, over the summer and their business was growing. My dad suggested I join my brothers and help them build a safety training company. The Events of 9/11 forever changed our country in many ways. For us, we grew from an emergency management and training company into an occupational, health and safety company for general industry and construction. By 2007, our youngest brother join the team and took charge of our OSHA Construction Division. We incorporated, and changed the name to Cook Professional Resources, Inc dba Safety Trainers. We service over 20 different industries throughout New England. Our culture is one based on the way we were raised at children. We still believe in building relationships, handshakes, written thank you notes, please and thank you and your "word" is a contract. Today, we are proud to say that over 60% of our clients have been with us for over 14 years.
