A four-hour Neurodiversity Workshop aimed at Leaders looking to understand Neurodiversity and how to create an environment to allow Neurodiverse colleagues to thrive.

The medication and record keeping course is a full day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as scenarios, activities, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. Learners will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding around the administering of medication and the importance of record keeping. Some of the key Learning Outcomes we cover are; Understanding of the legislation surrounding medication Understanding of role and responsibilities Understanding of medication policy and procedures Understanding of boundaries when assisting with medication Explain how and why medication errors occur Explain how to eliminate or reduce risks to individuals safety Aware of who and where to report concerns Understand the importance of thorough documentation Care providers are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and as a result must meet the Health and Social Care Act 2014 (Regulation 18 Staffing). Evidence of training and understanding is provided to support providers in their evidence of compliance. The Care Certificate Refresher is fully CPD accredited. The Care Certificate Refresher training is a full day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as hands on activities, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. Learners will update their knowledge, skills and understanding around the 15 care standards. The Care Certificate Refresher provides care staff with the fundamental skills to provide a quality, safe and effective service. The Care Certificate Refresher does not cover manual handling of people and objects. This is a stand-alone course, which can be booked separately. Care providers are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and as a result must meet the Health and Social Care Act 2014 (Regulation 18 Staffing). Evidence of training and understanding is provided to support providers in their evidence of compliance. In this course you’re invited to challenge limiting beliefs around ageing and to work towards clarity of life-purpose. In each session we show a series of short videos from experienced elders that are at the core of The Power in Ageing. After each video, an expert facilitator will invite you to reflect and explore your own responses to the key issues raised. You can then share (if you wish) or actively listen to others in a small facilitated group.  There are also some optional activities that are engaging or fun. By bringing your own life experience and wisdom, you explore how you can enjoy each day in the present and live a fulfilled life in the future. In past courses, participants have found this revolutionary approach to ageing to be both beneficial and enjoyable.   This is a safe programme that is tried and tested and is designed for people in their forties through to their seventies and above. It’s for people of all faiths or of no faith. There will be a couple of 5 minute break in each session so you can stay fresh and focused on the programme. We provide some Power of Ageing reading material after each session to help you get the most out of the course. Course Overview Teaching the theory and practise of suicide intervention skills that can be applied in any professional or personal setting, captured in a one-day event accredited by City and Guilds of London. We use only the most experienced suicide prevention trainers to deliver this unique learning experience: for anyone who seeks greater understanding and confidence to intervene with people at risk of suicide. The Suicide First Aid through Understanding Suicide Intervention (SFAUSI) course gives learners the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the most preventable deaths and some basic skills can help someone with thoughts of suicide stay safe from their thoughts and stay alive.  Course Content SFAUSI is comprised of 4 parts, each 90 minutes duration. The programme teaches and practices the skills and knowledge needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and competently intervene to help create suicide- safety as a first aid approach.  Part 1  Introduction to: the day; programme; ourselves and suicide prevention Stigma, Survivors of bereavement by suicide and the Hidden Toll Suicide thoughts and suicide behaviour Intention of behaviour Versus Outcome of behaviour Possible Causes of Suicidal thoughts Part 2 Suicide – the Ripple Effect Population-based approach to suicide prevention Partnership working Working with attitudes and values “I’m so glad you told me” - Audio visual Part 3 Meeting the needs of a person who is thinking about suicide Suicide-Safety Guide Step 1 – Recognising suicide and asking about suicide Step 2 – Understanding options Part 4 Step 3 – Safeguarding suicide Suicide-safety and self-care The risk assessment approach Suicide and suicide gestures Future learning Format Taught over 6 hours using tutor facilitated Socratic learning, tutor-led practice session, mini lectures, group work and audio-visual presentations. This is a highly interactive and emotionally engaging learning experience.  Pre-training requirement No previous experience or training is necessary. Participants will be asked to self-reflect and empathise with a person having thoughts of suicide. There is no expectation on participants to share personal experiences.  Who should attend?  Multi-sector managers and practitioners including health, housing, social care, education, criminal justice, call centre operators, private, voluntary and public sector workers and community groups or members.  Accreditation Participants can choose to register for the City and Guilds accredited unit of learning for an additional fee of £85 per person. This involves completion of a written assignment.
