Course Overview


Teaching
the theory and practise of suicide intervention skills that can be applied in
any professional or personal setting, captured in a one-day event accredited by
City and Guilds of London. We use only the most experienced suicide prevention
trainers to deliver this unique learning experience: for anyone who seeks
greater understanding and confidence to intervene with people at risk of
suicide. 
   The
Suicide First Aid through Understanding Suicide Intervention (SFAUSI) course
gives learners the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the
most preventable deaths and some basic skills can help someone with thoughts of
suicide stay safe from their thoughts and stay alive.

SFAUSI is comprised of 4 parts, each 90 minutes duration. The
programme teaches and practices the skills and knowledge needed to identify
someone who may be thinking about suicide and competently intervene to help
create suicide- safety as a first aid approach.

Why a Level 2 Course? Reiki at Level 2 is the level of training which is needed to practise Reiki healing professionally and have paying clients. Often reflexologists, aromatherapists and other complementary therapists add reiki healing to their range of healing skills that they offer their clients. 
However it is not just for those who have clients it is also a powerful self-development technique for your own personal healing experience and to share with family/friends and give them the benefit of well-being.
A certificate at Reiki Level One is needed for you to enrol on this course and I am happy to accept students who have trained elsewhere with another Reiki Master.
The Reiki Two course is taught live on line using Zoom.

Please note that the course will take a minimum of 14 hours of independent learning with the option of completing further hours by covering more than one age bracket - the live sessions will be in addition to these 14 hours. Details 
Using pre-recorded training, interactive on-line content (through Padlet), self-directed learning and live events, this substantial and comprehensive blended training course keeps delegates interested, engaged and learning new ways to bring excellence to their 24-hour postural care provision and focuses on the often neglected lying position and how unsupported lying drives changes to a person's body shape which impacts sitting, standing and functional movement. 
You will have access to the online learning from 4th November 2024 and be provided with all the information you will need to complete the course. At 1pm (GMT) on 4th November you will then join the trainers for an introductory event via Zoom to provide an outline of the training and to answer any questions you may have. Over the next few weeks you can access the pre-recorded training videos and interactive online content to enable you to complete the workbook. On 16th December there will be a series of live discussion events for the specific ages the course covers to assess your learning (you must attend at least one of these events - please see below for further information). 
Why? 
People with complex needs, deserve a thorough, co-ordinated 24-hour postural care service. We only get one body and yet people with complex disabilities don't always get the 'annual service' afforded the equipment they use.
Posture Positive report (2020) found training is a key aspect to developing resilient and robust 24-hour postural care for people with complex needs. Every person with complex needs or limited movement requires a comprehensive 24-hour postural care service delivered in a personalised way. 
Who? 
The course is suitable for specialist physiotherapists, specialist occupational therapists and other highly trained healthcare professionals working in health, SEN and social care.

Older people an palliative care
Each delegate selects the aspects of the course relevant to their particular area of practice whilst having access to all the course resources.

Are you feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and stretched to your limit?  With meetings and meltdowns to manage, battles for support, the frustration of feeling isolated or misunderstood, not to mention the pressure of juggling your job too, it can It can feel like you’re running on empty; hard to find a moment to step off the hamster wheel and just breathe.
I’ve been there, and I get it!💛
After being on the brink of burnout myself, I stumbled upon simple, yet impactful self-help, self-care and relaxation tools. These quick, effective techniques helped me rebuild my resilience, reclaim my sense of self and navigate challenges with renewed strength and joy.  And that’s how The SHARE Project was born.
What is The SHARE Project?
The SHARE Project is built on a simple principle: you need to put your own oxygen mask on first!  By nurturing yourself, you’re better equipped to support your children. Through our four-week, live online workshop series, delivered via Zoom, you’ll discover practical tools to bring more calm and happiness into your daily life.
Here’s what you can expect:
Weekly Workshops:  Each week, we’ll introduce and practice one or two tools designed to fit seamlessly into your life (in just a few minutes at a time, I promise!). These are not your typical “luxury spa day” suggestions — because let’s face it, who has time for that?  Instead, you’ll learn sustainable, go-to strategies that you can use anytime, anywhere, to boost your wellbeing, even in the midst of chaos.  You will also receive a mid-week email of encouragement between workshops and printables to help record and track your progress.
Ongoing Support:  In each session, we’ll review your progress, fine-tune your approach, if needed, and introduce the next tool.  
Community Connection: You’ll be part of a supportive group of fellow SEN parents and carers who understand the unique challenges you face.
