Course Overview

This Renewables Technical Surveying training, short two day course, is specifically designed for individuals and companies that want to train themselves and their staff on exactly how to carry out Renewables Technical Site Surveying prior to any renewables installation measures, this includes for heating systems, solar systems and EV Charge point installations. 
The course is primarily aimed at Energy Suppliers, Equipment Manufacturers, Renewables Installers, Domestic Energy Assessors, Retrofit Assessors, Retrofit Co-ordinators, Renewables sales staff and suitable individuals with a basic level of knowledge in varying building structures, heating systems and varying renewable technologies.
Note: A minimum number of 5 deligates is required. If the course is under subscribed you will be asked to re-arrange your course date.
  During this technical training course we will provide the following:
Day 1 - (Morning) Build Surveying Knowledge
Procuring the correct technical surveying equipment
Procuring and downloading technical surveying software packages
Identifying the differences in Home Heating products and their various characteristics
The basics of Heat pumps & low temperature hydronics
Identifying typical heating pipework and heating system elements
Identifying suitable locations for the Installation of Heat Pumps & Hot Water Cylinders
Carrying out MCS020 compliant Noise Level Assessments
Local Planning restrictions in England & Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland
Preparing for typical homeowner questions around low temperature heating, solar systems and battery storage
Day 1 - (Afternoon) Solar Surveying & Regulatory Renewable Standards
Gathering reliable site data for Solar System design
Identification of typical Rooflines & Tile configurations for Solar Panel Installations
Identification of possible shading to proposed roofline areas
Gathering details of rafter dimensions and roof pitch angles
Identification of Meters and Earth Bonding Arrangement
Identifying safe and compliant locations for battery storage facilities
Day 2 - (Morning) Carrying out effective site surveying techniques
Completing fully detailed digital building floor plans & renewable energy reports
How to provide relevant and useful site video evidence

Completing detailed form information for basic health & safety purposes
Completing detailed form information for current Building Construction Elements
Completing detailed form information for current Heating System Elements
Correct trade insurance levels for Renewables Surveyors
Day 2 - (Afternoon) Using Technology to enhance survey data
Task 1 - Group activity using 360 walkthrough - Carry out detailed Surveying for producing heat loss calculations using digital floor plan software and digital form data we take you through the process
Task 2 - Individual activity - Carry out a detailed Survey for producing heat loss calculations & Solar survey from data provided
Multiple Choice Learning Check
Set out home task (Optional) - complete a survey on your own home using the provided software, which the learner will then receive feedback on.
The course will provide learners with intuitive guidance on how to set up surveying software and fully complete renewables technical site surveys using digital floor planning software, efficient use of digital survey forms, as well as having access to our full range of really helpful surveyor resources.
