Please note that this round of training is available only to workforce based within, or supporting individuals living in Conwy County Sparc is a North Wales based. project. We work with adults with learning disabilities, their parents and the people who work with them. Sparc provide training sessions on friendships, relationships and sex so that adults with learning disabilities become more confident with dating and relationships. This training day for North Wales workforce is based on our experience so far in delivering this work, and what we have been told by the learning disability and/or autistic communities about how they would prefer to be supported Become a workplace champion in supporting the rights and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and or autism to have happy and healthy friendships, romantic relationships and sex. This workshop is free of charge for practitioners within or supporting individuals living in CONWY COUNTY, funded by the North Wales Transformation Project for Seamless Services and UK Government Levelling Up Fund We invite enthusiastic representatives from workplaces across the region to join take part in this one day event focused on exploring and removing barriers faced by adults with learning disabilities and autism in forming and maintaining positive friendships and romantic relationships. During the course of the day participants will Explore the benefits of healthy and fulfilling friendships, relationships and sex Identify barriers to the above, presented both by wider societal structure and within their workplace settings Consider law and legislation outlining individuals rights to relationships and private life Explored best practice in facilitating and supporting relationships and friendships Have the opportunity to create a bespoke action plan to share information and support colleagues within their workplace setting Terms & conditions: Due to limited capacity we are offering this free training to a maximum of two representatives from each workplace or setting. If more than two staff from a workplace wish to book on please email corrina@sexeducationcompany.org to be added to the reserve list. We will contact you if a place becomes available. As part of the conditions of attendance you will be asked to share the learning gained on this course with your workplace and colleagues. Although this course is free of charge we will charge late cancellation administration fees as follows: No notification of non-attendance - £50, less than 48 hours notice of non-attendance £30, Less than 1 weeks notice of non-attendance £25. One Shared Owner: artists talking about creating collaborative space and sustainability with SaltSpace and Vanilla Ink Join us for a conversation exploring how artist-led initiatives are set up, why they are necessary and perhaps most importantly how they evolve and sustain themselves over time.  SaltSpace and Vanilla Ink will be sharing their experiences setting up as a Cooperative and Community Interest Company; and how they operate as an artist led space and community for creative practitioners.  SaltSpace will be hosting Dr Deborah Jackson, Head of Fine Art Critical Studies at the Glasgow School of Art, and Ellie Smith-Barratt, Chief Executive Officer at Vanilla Ink. Both Deborah and Ellie will be sharing their experiences with artist-led initiatives, thinking about the topic of sustaining creative spaces and communities in Scotland, with a specific focus on supports for early career practitioners in Glasgow and more broadly across Scotland.  This conversation will be an opportunity to think about the transitional space of moving from student to graduate and into practicing as a professional artist. We will be talking about supports for recent graduates and early career artists in the form of organisations and initiatives set up by / for recent graduates due to the lack of support system often provided by institutions. We will be thinking about the need to support collaboration and foster community during that time, and what mechanisms of support are in place for this, and how we can improve and strengthen these supports. Context: This event is co-hosted and supported by the Scottish Artist Union, artist and researcher Chris Biddlecombe, will be providing an overview of his key findings from the ‘Artist-Led Organisations in Scotland: Survey and Mapping of Activity' research report, which has been undertaken by Scottish Artist Union on behalf of Creative Scotland.  The event has been developed in conversation with Dr Marianne Greated, Academic Development Lead, School of Fine Art, Glasgow School of Art who has a longstanding interest in developing artist led collaborations and how this can be supported through the Glasgow School of Art curriculum.  About SaltSpace: SaltSpace is a creative cooperative based in Glasgow which aims to provide a supportive platform for new graduates and early year creatives as a stepping-stone into their artistic career. Currently we offer studio spaces across two premises in Glasgow city in Dornoch Street and the Axiom Building and a gallery/community space in the Axiom Building on 54 Washington Street.  About Vanilla Ink: Vanilla Ink is a Community Interest Company with creative jewellery workshops in Glasgow and Banff. They offer a diverse range of resources and programmes tailored to empower and support emerging talent, giving members access to the fully equipped jewellery studios, tools and bench space. The emphasis is on providing a supportive environment for jewellers to develop their skills and confidence. The jewellery school provides classes, workshops and courses for both beginners and professionals. One Shared Owner and the research is supported by Creative Scotland. The participants are encouraged to utilise this group for study purposes throughout this course. Each group will be allocated a senior nurse coach who will be their point of contact for queries and provide support throughout the course and for a period after the course has finished, until the participants have achieved their competencies in their respective place of work. Each participant will be given a workbook populated with competencies for each of the 7 topics within NICU. This workbook will provide guidance and it is intended for the participants to use it in their clinical practice. The participants will require a senior nurse allocated to them locally in their respective hospital who can oversee the application of the gained knowledge in practice. The participants are encouraged to utilise this group for study purposes throughout this course. Most importantly the tutor can design a program that it suited to you and your requirements, a meeting with the tutor can be arranged beforehand to discuss a learning plan for you. Flexible 1 to 1 tutoring is a great way to learn at your own pace with no pressures and with the support of an industry expert. Each session will focus and build upon the last so that you are eventually able to meet your desired end goal. What equipment do I use on the course? The Black & Gold Studio is equipped with a huge range of both industry standard recording equipment, hardware synthesizers, drum machines, fx processing and control surfaces, and that’s before we even get inside the computer!! You can be taught to use DAW’s such as Logic Pro X, Cubase, Pro Tools & Ableton Live as well as explore other 3rd party softwares such as NI Komplete, Izotope, Fabfilter, Waves and so many more.
