Workshop 925 launched in January 2019 and is based at The Mayford Centre which is nestled between Guildford and Woking in Surrey. The workshop was launched by Kirsten Hendrich after several years teaching within adult education facilities, alongside running her own jewellery brand Kirsten Hendrich Jewellery. Kirsten often felt frustrated at large class sizes, the lack of specialist equipment and solid workbenches to allow students to really blossom. So, she began her vision which was to create the perfect learning environment for jewellers of all levels to come and learn new skills using professional equipment, providing the best chance possible for students to learn the technical and business skills of the trade within small class sizes enabling plenty of one to one tutor support to aid effective learning.

Kelvin J. Birk produces jewellery as well as larger objects, mainly in silver and gold with all types of gemstones. Within his work he crushes precious gemstones and glues them back together, sometimes in a random uncontrolled shape, other times in a more controlled manner and then combines these stones with jewellery pieces or objects in precious metal. Within his work he is consciously disregarding what is traditionally considered precious. Birk revels in a lack of control, allows chaos to take over and the nature of the precious materials to dictate the final outcome of the pieces. His collection is constantly developing and through different creative processes new pieces emerge all the time, ensuring that no two are identical. Like the experiences of personal life, there is always destruction and loss yet out of these processes come new things and new orders. Kelvin J. Birk’s jewellery illustrates this theme of chaos and re-creation. There is always order in chaos, we lose things and we gain things. It is a constant. After Graduating in Goldsmithing and jewellery making at the Berufsfachschule fuer Glas und Schmuck, Germany, Kelvin J. Birk took his MA in Silversmithing and Jewellery (awarded with distinction) from the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art in London, UK (1997). Kelvin exhibited at various fairs and exhibitions in Great Britain, Europe, the USA, China and Taiwan. His work won him several prizes and awards and he received several grants from different funding bodies. His work has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and in a range of jewellery and design books. Kelvin is available for consultations and happy to discuss special commissions and bespoke pieces. He became a specialist in up-cycling old jewellery, where he recycles your unworn jewellery into a stunning new wearable piece of jewellery.

Welcome to The Ringsmiths jewellery making workshops. Launched in January 2019 by close friends and award winning jewellers, Milena Kovanovic and Ros Millar. Milena is the founder of jewellery brand Crucible London and has been making fine jewellery for 15 years since graduating from Central Saint Martins. She is also a qualified gemmologist and a self-confessed gem geek! Her passion for gemstones often takes her travelling around the world to source stones and find inspiration for her jewellery collections. Ros launched her luxury fashion jewellery brand Ros Millar in 2010. Using traditional techniques in a modern way to create her Gothic luxe aesthetic. Ros opened her first bricks & mortar store 'Kas & Ros' in November 2018.

Catherine Hambridge is a designer and maker of silver and gold contemporary jewellery. She hand makes all her own creations in her sunny Hastings studio, predominately working with eco silver, the 100% recycled alternative and recycled 9ct or Fair Trade Gold. Catherine uses sustainable materials where possible and is striving towards being 100% sustainable for the future. All Gemstone chosen by Catherine are Fair Trade, this means her supplier can follow the gemstones all the way back to the mine, where they have significant impact on the mining itself. Her work is influenced by her close connection to the sea and landscape down at Pett Level where she grew up. The lines, forms and circles that reappear and repeat themselves in her etched pieces are reminiscent of her long relationship to the southern coast. By manipulating the surface of the metal with her unique and distinct style, leaving intricate layers of textured silver, her work echoes natural forms in the landscape.

My priority is to guide clients who are individuals or companies to the perfect training solution, and develop new professional standard courses that are reactive and relevant to jewellery industry demand. Dawn Meaden-Johnson _Founder and Directo With the Bespoke Jewellery Training Company I have created a unique business model that provides anyone with access to professional jewellery industry standard training outside of Further Education. I'm a graduate Silversmith of the prestigious School of Jewellery in Birmingham and I have a wide variety of experience over my career in different industry roles. After graduating I began a 10 year stint of experience working at Jewellery Retail sector giants Signet Group, initially working in jewellery sales and customer service, then moving into branch operations, export, marketing and merchandising via their HQ in Birmingham. From 2004-2014 I was back at the School of Jewellery Birmingham City University (BCU) as short courses/external training project manager, working with UK and International clients. For the past five years Dawn has been supporting Graduates and Designer Makers via Jewellery Business Mentoring. In 2017 The Bespoke Jewellery Training Company became an a graduate award sponsor at The School of Jewellery at Birmingham City University (BCU), where upon graduation two graduates per year are selected to receive a 9 month Graduate Jewellery Business Mentoring programme each, delivered by me. In 2022 I became a member of The Guild of Jewellery Designers, Ethical Good Practises Forum. We are working on a subject area of huge importance, and our forum is made up of industry volunteers with a wide range of experience, and our aim is to research, raise awareness and provide guidance to help Jewellers make informed choices for ethical good practise. Today my office at The Bespoke Jewellery Training Company is located near Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter and our courses take place in many tutor studios all around the UK and online.

As a traditional goldsmith with over 20 years of experience, Jasmin’s passion for jewellery design never faded. In Jasmin´s words: As a child I always wanted to become a true renaissance man or, in my case, woman. I dreamed of being a painter, sculptor and innovator living a life solving the mysteries of the world like Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo. So I became a goldsmith, learning the ancient art of working with precious metals and intriguing gemstones. During my years in the jewellery business I had the wonderful opportunity to work with renowned jewellery artists, like Wendy Ramshaw, Jacqueline Mina and others to design high-end collections and to make jewellery in every metal I could possibly lay my hands on (palladium and niobium are still amongst my favourites). Ultimately, I discovered my passion for teaching. Through my association with one of the most prestigious jewellery schools in the world (GIA) I have inspired hundreds of students in such far-flung locations as Thailand, Italy and California. With my many classes, I have combined the intricacies of jewellery design with the elements of technology, using the latest CAD/CAM developments, whilst sharing both my joy and undiminished affection for an industry that I have been involved with for all my working life. Today, I still do what I love. I run my own jewellery business, Jaqc Jewellery and Jaqc Jewellery Academy, offer design consultancy, and illustrate jewellery for a variety of companies. Now I want to help you realise your creative ambitions, by sharing my skills and show you how to design, manufacture and illustrate amazing jewellery.
