Welcome to the website of Holy Family Catholic School and Sixth Form. Under various names, the school has provided excellent Catholic education in Waltham Forest for over 100 years and continues to do so. I was appointed Headteacher in September 2022 and I am proud and privileged to lead this vibrant faith and learning community. Our “Aspire” values underpin all that we do as we seek to live out the words of St Oscar Romero: “Aspire not to have more, but to be more”. At the centre of our work is the belief that each person is unique, created in God’s image and with a variety of gifts and talents. It is our role as a Catholic school to enable each student to develop those gifts and talents in the education of the whole person. We set the highest standards and expectations for all students and expect that they will live up to these. Year on year, our strong academic results and progress are testament to the hard work and commitment of our students and teachers.

Too often in our society learning disabled children, and their families, are not heard; they are left out, made to feel that they don’t belong, let alone have their voices heard. Many of the children and young people we work with are unable to speak for themselves. They can’t express themselves in ways that most of us take for granted. But they do have things to say. What we do at Bamboozle is to unlock the doors to enable them to find their own voice. We do it by producing immersive accessible theatre which tours the UK and internationally, deliver schools projects in the UK and work with families locally and in China. GEORGE MESSUM, Men’s Captain OURFC As the culmination of an entire season filters into a single 80-minute fixture, the shared experiences amongst the squad, and the importance of the day-to-day journey to the Varsity Match, is unrivalled against any other rugby experience I have had. ELISHA CLARK, Women’s Captain, CURUFC Watching Coreen Grant score her spectacular try in the 76th minute last year was a great moment. Being on the pitch with the team when the whistle blew was an unbelievable experience. STEPHEN LEONARD, Men’s Captain, CURUFC It epitomises the obsessive nature of competitive sport. Players sacrifice more than their time to simply attempt to wear the Light Blue jersey. I have never come across another match that captures the hearts and minds of all who take part, and I doubt I ever will. With the invaluable support of volunteers and members we care for over 6,500ha of land for wildlife in Surrey. We also work with other organisations and landowners to protect and connect wildlife sites across the county and inspire local communities and young people to care for wildlife where they live. The Surrey Naturalists' Trust was formed on 21st March 1959. Over 60 years later our name may have changed, but the motivation that inspired our founders remains the same. Over the years the number of reserves cared for by the Trust has grown steadily thanks to generous gifts of land and the purchase of sites from fundraising. In 2002 the Trust also took on Surrey County Council's considerable countryside estate and now employs over 100 members of staff to care for the countryside and inspire others to do the same - a far cry from our humble beginnings. A group of elected Trustees oversee the governance and strategic leadership of the organisation. Our Trustees are members of the Trust and give their experience and expertise for free.

Our courses can be delivered either face to face or remotely via a facility such as zoom or Microsoft Teams. The training team deliver a broad range of CPD-accredited and bespoke training services around self harm, suicide awareness, prevention and bereavement, and mental health. We can also offer MHFA, MHFA-Youth and ASIST but may be able to offer a suitable alternative should this work out better for you. Just ask! Our training is really and truly about developing people, services and organisations by way of engaging them in learning. It is therefore imperative that our training is engaging, relevant and actually yields the desired outcomes. We believe that this can only happen if the learners and delegates are actively involved in inspiring and motivating content. No one wants to sit through a death by PowerPoint and whilst we will provide you with all the relevant slides and resources that you may need, we want you to be involved in a meaningful conversation that means after the training you will either do and/or feel differently in the work that you do.

2009, the local Parent Carer Forum was born. Two mums (including our CEO, Rachel) with the passion to help others were given the opportunity to make a difference for others like themselves. This was part of a government initiative to create Parent Carer Forums throughout the country that would represent the parent voice in the design of services. Over the years we have grown from strength to strength and in number with some of our key highlights being: 2010 We ran our first conference and have run several other conferences and events throughout the years. 2016 We created our Really Useful Guides; a helpful resource for families. 2018 We developed our workshops for Parent Carers. 2019 Was a triple celebration; not only did we celebrate our 10th anniversary, but we also opened our Community Base in Kingswood and were awarded “Excellence in Parent Carer Participation” at Contact’s national award ceremony, held at The Palace of Westminster. 2022 We started the new year welcoming seven new staff members to the team as well as opening a new venue for Little Treasures, and reaching Parent Carers across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire by delivering some workshops in partnership with our colleagues in North Somerset.
