monmouth youth project

Following requests from young people for a safe meeting place in Monmomouth local residents came together with young people to meet that need. The group became known as Monmouth Youth Project. In 2001 the Attik youth centre was opened (by the Bus Station) providing Monmouth’s young people with a safe place to socialise which is supported by professional youth workers. Young people were actively involved in the design of the Attik and the appointment of staff. In 2011 the Attik relocated to the Library Annex, next to the Library on Whitecross Street. At the Attik, young people are able to access a range of facilities, activities, trips, workshops and on site services including specialist youth workers, counselling and a young people’s health clinic. OPEN TO ALL YOUNG PEOPLE The Attik is open to all young people aged 11 – 25 years though it is mainly used by those aged 11 – 16. Those aged 16 and above tend to drop in for specific services. The Attik is free to use. Staffing – Youth workers are employed by Monmouthshire County Council’s Youth Services. Staff are qualified to National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Youth and Community Work or working towards this qualification. All staff and volunteers with access to young people have been cleared by the Data Baring Scheme (Criminal Record Bureau).

paws & feet dog training

Paul and Jackie have between them over 40 years experience in dog training. They are both Kennel Club Good Citizens examiners to Gold Standard. They believe that training should be practical, fun and meet the individual requirements of the owners and their dogs. Jackie and Pauls involvement in dog training started first with Molly, a Border Collie rescue, followed soon after by Spike another rescue Border Collie, and then Masie our beautiful Cross Collie. Now we have a 9 year old Gun Dog from a Puppy who is a very handsome boy. Taking on rescue dogs gave them an insight into dealing with all sorts of issues and firmly cemented their interest in training. Jackie has her British Sign Language Level 3 Certificate, and is able to work with those who are deaf or hard of hearing to train their dogs. We really enjoyed our time at the clinic and want to thank the LED charity for giving us the opportunity to go and the local people around the clinic for being very welcoming. We went to the clinic in Quishaur near Huaraz for around a month. This clinic supports the health of the people in the area surrounding Quishaur.

Lindsey's love for dance started at a very early age when she started dancing classes aged just 2 1/2. Born into a family of dancers and dance teachers it was always Lindsey's ambition to become a qualified dance teacher and have her own dancing school. In 2010 Lindsey founded her own dancing school – 'The Linzi G School of Dance' for adult tap classes, and then expanded in 2013 to include a wider of variety of classes for both children and adults.
