Yes, if you currently hold an SIA Security Guard license, you will be required to complete a 1-Day SIA Top-Up Training. Starting from 1st October 2021, one of the following conditions must be met before applying for or renewing your license: The Top-Up Door Supervisor Training has been introduced to ensure that existing Door Supervisor and Security Guard license holders attain the same qualification level as newly qualified individuals. The aim is to align the skills of those renewing licenses with the standards applied to new license holders since 1st April 2021, when these regulations were updated What will the SIA top-up training course include? Security Guard license holders will need to complete an additional one-day top-up training. This top-up training will encompass modules on Terror Threat Awareness and Minimizing Personal Risk for Security Officers. As part of the SIA’s updated requirements, license holders are also mandated to hold an Emergency First Aid Certificate. To renew your license, you must either demonstrate that you have at least 12 months left before the expiration of any existing first aid certificate or attend an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification or its equivalent, before participating in any top-up training The Top-Up Door Supervisor Training has been introduced to ensure that existing Door Supervisor and Security Guard license holders attain the same qualification level as newly qualified individuals. The aim is to align the skills of those renewing licenses with the standards applied to new license holders since 1st April 2021, when these regulations were updated Document Checks Proof of Identity You will need to provide documents that prove you are who you say you are. Address history You need to provide two proofs of address. Bank or building society statement issued within the last three months. Utility bill issued within the last three months. A credit card statement was sent to your current address within the last three months. Council Tax statement issued in the last 12 months. Mortgage statement issued in the last 12 months. Age You must be 18 or over to hold an SIA licence. Criminal record Please be aware, that even if you pass the SIA door supervisor, you will still need to pass SIA criminal record checks. If you live outside the UK, or you have spent 6 continuous months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, you need to provide evidence of overseas criminal record checks to the SIA. SIA will only issue a licence after completing background checks.  Right to work in the UK You must have the right to work in the UK to get a front-line or non-front-line licence.

This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner must complete the full course again to re-qualify for a further three years. Aim To equip care staff with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to respond effectively and safely when a resident experiences a cardiac arrest, ensuring best practice in emergency resuscitation procedures. Learning Objectives By the end of the session, staff will be able to: Recognise the signs of cardiac arrest in a care home setting. Initiate a safe and effective emergency response, including correct positioning of the resident. Perform high-quality CPR on an adult using correct technique and rhythm. Use a defibrillator (AED) confidently and correctly. Identify environmental risks and adapt the environment to enable effective resuscitation. Demonstrate teamwork and role allocation in an emergency. Reflect on the importance of debriefing and support following a resuscitation incident. We reserve the right to turn away individuals too exhausted to focus on the training or staff who turn up late for a course and disturb the flow of the proceedings. Cancellations CH Care Training operates a sliding scale of cancellation; If you cancel more than two weeks before the start date of a course, you can ask for a full refund, to change the names of the delegates being sent along, or to transfer a delegate to another training date. If you give less than two weeks but more than one week's notice of cancellation, 50 percent of the booking can be refunded. If you cancel less than a week from the training delivery date we wont be able to refund. There are no refunds for staff who do not turn up on the day of the training course. If CH Care Training needs to change the date or cancel a course for any reason we will give you the maximum notice we can. In exceptional circumstances we may cancel a course due to extreme weather or circumstances at the training venue. You will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to transfer your booking to an alternative date. Please ask your staff to read the following guidance before they attend the course: Arriving at the Venue The course will start promptly so please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of the training to allow plenty of time to use the toilet, and be seated ready for the start of the course. During the course As this is a working environment please ensure you allow the necessary time and focus to get the best from the material being presented. We will encourage plenty of comments, points of view and the sharing of lived experiences. Delegates should not share any sensitive information about a client or organisation. Our session agreement asks delegates to maintain confidentiality about individuals and organisations and to respect the views of others on the course. All CH Care Training courses are inclusive, but if you have any concerns about your ability to participate, such as sensory or learning differences then please let the Trainer know in confidence before the start of a course, so that they may make the appropriate adjustments. Paediatric first aid training: What will you learn? The course covers everything listed below. There will be practical demonstrations, role playing and several activities to keep things moving along. You’ll use the whole range of paediatric first equipment, and will try out your newly learned techniques on my adult, child and baby mannequins. I’m happy to tailor the content with additions. When there is a shooting, stabbing or bomb explosion the initial priority will be public safety. This can delay the time before the emergency services are able to reach the injured. Our 3 hour citizenAID course enables the general public to be effective in these situations before the emergency services are available to provide professional medical support. This course can be delivered on-site or at our training centre in Poole, Dorset. Qualification Information This qualification and learning outcomes are based on the blended recommendations of: European Resuscitation Council, Section 9. First Aid British Army, Battlefield Casualty Drills Course Content Following this course students will: Be able to use the citizenAID app/pocket guide in an emergency situation. Be able to provide immediate first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is breathing. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with severe external bleeding. Who should attend? This qualification is for all members of the public who wish to learn lifesaving skills and techniques in the event of a deliberate multiple casualty incident. Pre-requisites Students must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training. Assessment and Certifications Assessment of this course is continuous and will take place through knowledge and skills observations. Successful students will receive an Immerse Training Certificate, which is valid for three years. This certificate will be issued by Qualsafe, the awarding body for Immerse Training.
