The Practitioner in Emotional Intelligence course explores the concept of emotional intelligence in detail building upon what you know to give you a much deeper understanding. The course covers the experience of the inner world; how attitudes, beliefs, values and preferences drive behavioural responses and how feelings can be regulated with more effectiveness.

LOOKING FOR: ADULT FICTION Nicky Lovick has worked as an editor for over twenty years, working for top five publishers. She is now an agent at WGM Talent, building the books list. She is looking for commercial fiction, from upmarket women’s fiction, bookclub, romance, domestic noir and psychological thrillers, to crime series. She loves hooky stories such as Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid and Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware set in confined settings, such as hotels. She’s always on the lookout for romcoms with a fresh, contemporary feel to them such as Emily Henry’s Book Lovers. Also historical fiction with a twist and sweeping family sagas. Nicky wants you to make her laugh, make her cry or keep her hooked.  Nicky would like you to submit a covering letter, 1-2 page synopsis and the opening three chapters of your manuscript in a single word document.  (In addition to the paid sessions, Nicky is kindly offering one free session for low income/underrepresented writers. Outline: This course is intended to provide an introduction to some key materials and components used in contemporary building envelopes. This course will identify key British, European and CWCT standards and guides relevant to those elements. NOTE: The material for this course is based on previous MTCP and CWDC courses. Target audience: This course is aimed at those who specify and use the more common materials that are used in the construction of contemporary building envelopes. Learning objectives: Understand the factors affecting the durability of key façade metals, Understand commonly used coatings, Understand key performance criteria of key polymeric materials, Understand different insulation and thermal break materials, Appreciate different commonly used panel and board materials, Appreciate key production and fabrication issues relating to façade materials. Assessment: Assessment will be via a series of multiple-choice questions following the course, The assessment is timed and must be passed in order to receive a CPD certificate for the course, If the assessment is failed, one re-take will be permitted. Prerequisites: None, although C201 Introduction to contemporary cladding and façade systems is recommended.
