Come and learn how to make fabulous, colourful woven greetings cards with me, via Zoom!Suitable for ALL levels, even complete beginners.This workshop is great for hand made cards and gifts but is also a great place to start if you think you might be interested in&nbsp;learning how to weave as it will help you to understand the basics of woven structure.We&rsquo;ll try paper weaving and yarn wrapping, playing with colour and texture, and pattern. The possibilities are endless!The first hour of the workshop is spent on paper weaving. We&#39;ll start with a simple twill, and then we&#39;ll try a zig-zag, and even a dogtooth! An interactive, engaging and supportive workshop is for parents and carers of children with additional needs. Supporting a child with disabilities can feel like a whole other world. It is a unique kind of parenting rollercoaster which take us to higher highs and lower lows.

This 2-part work shop is based on lived experience and uses evidence and research to navigate the complexities of parenting a child with additional needs. 

It covers topics including:

holding complex emotions
living in our own story
dealing with difficult anniversaries
changing relationships
navigating the web of professional input
communicating with practitioners
being an empowered parent

The workshop will occur at the same time in two consecutive weeks.

Using pre-recorded training, interactive on-line content (through Padlet), self-directed learning and live events, this substantial and comprehensive blended training course keeps delegates interested, engaged and learning new ways to bring excellence to their 24-hour postural care provision and focuses on the often neglected lying position and how unsupported lying drives changes to a person's body shape which impacts sitting, standing and functional movement. 

You will have access to the online learning from 23rd April 2025 and be provided with all the information you will need to complete the course. At 1pm (BST) on 23rd April you will then join the trainers for an introductory event via Zoom to provide an outline of the training and to answer any questions you may have. Over the next few weeks you can access the pre-recorded training videos and interactive online content to enable you to complete the workbook. On 4th June 2025 there will be a series of live discussion events for the specific ages the course covers to assess your learning (you must attend at least one of these events - please see below for further information). 

Why? 
People with complex needs, deserve a thorough, co-ordinated 24-hour postural care service. We only get one body and yet people with complex disabilities don't always get the 'annual service' afforded the equipment they use.
Posture Positive report (2020) found training is a key aspect to developing resilient and robust 24-hour postural care for people with complex needs. Every person with complex needs or limited movement requires a comprehensive 24-hour postural care service delivered in a personalised way. 

Who? 
The course is suitable for specialist physiotherapists, specialist occupational therapists and other highly trained healthcare professionals working in health, SEN and social care. 
The course breaks down the life span of a person as follows:
0-3 years
Children and young people in education
Adults
Older people and palliative care

Each delegate selects the aspects of the course relevant to their particular area of practice whilst having access to all the course resources.

On completion of the course, it is hoped delegates will be equipped with the knowledge needed to deliver an outstanding, person-centred, 24-hour postural care service.

This training is for lawyers who may come into contact with vulnerable people through their work. In particular, it is aimed at those who hold legal aid contracts and must meet the requirements of the Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) standard in respect of safeguarding.
Everyone has the right to be kept safe from harm, abuse or neglect. We all have obligations to ensure that vulnerable people are protected and that we have appropriate procedures in place to ensure that abuse is identified and reported.
