Tour start from St Giles Cathedral or your hotel and last approx 3 hours ​This photo tour usually starts in Edinb8rgh Old Town but as it is a private tour this can be adjusted to suit your needs. It starts off by instructing you how to get the best out of your camera if you require this (and skipping it if you don't) and then the emphasis is on capturing stunning photographs of Edinburgh rather than the usual tourist snaps that most people will capture. You really get to see Edinburgh in a different way and with the help and advice of Will who has worked as press photographer, covered humanitarian crises in Iraq, shot covers and content for Lonely Planet guidebooks, covered Fashion week for many years but now concentrates on teaching from his vast skill set. ​If you prefer the tour to take place in the New Town, Dean Village etc we can do that too. We want you to see the best of Edinburgh, hear some amazing stories about our city and leave with great photos regardless of your skill level before your tour or the equipment you use. Course Information Who should attend? This course is provided for people who work in the care sector and are required to have knowledge and understanding of Makaton which is a communication tool that has been used for many years to support people with learning / speech difficulties. It is made up of a combination of speech, signs, symbols, gesture and facial expressions. Over the last few years, it has become widely recognised and used within many different services to support communication. Although Makaton is extremely beneficial to support communication, it is also lots of fun to learn too! Children and adults who have difficulty understanding and speaking often become frustrated or withdrawn. By using Makaton, we are helping them to communicate with friend and staff members. For those who have experienced the frustration of being unable to communicate meaningfully or effectively, Makaton really can help. Makaton takes away that frustration and enables individuals to connect with other people and the world around them. This opens up all kinds of possibilities. Course delivery The one-day course will provide an insight into the background of Makaton and who it can benefit. Sessions include discussing commonly asked questions, hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use and how to start using Makaton in everyday situations at work. This course is delivered in 1 day of classroom training led by a professional instructor to cover the all course elements. Running either mornings or afternoons Nicola’s soap making workshop is for 1 or 2 people to make their own 100% natural cold pressed soaps the old fashioned way. We will run a soap making workshop on demand for either 1 or 2 people in Westwell, Kent. On the day you will: Learn about different soap making techniques, Understand the characteristics of various plant oils and their benefits to the skin, Learn the basics of essential oils, Make your own natural soap using the traditional ‘cold pressed’ method. To find out which soaps you can make, get in touch beforehand. All of the soaps are vegan friendly. You’ll need to leave the soap to cure for 6 weeks, after which you can either collect it or I can post it to you. As an added extra Nicola will prepare a selection of natural, locally sourced herbal infusions for you to try out. A 3 hour workshop is £70 per person. This includes 10 bars of cold pressed soap and the postage to send them to you once they’ve cured. What's included in the price?
