CITB HEALTH AND SAFETY AWARENESS COURSE The 1 Day CITB Health and Safety Awareness course is for those who have entered, or are about to enter the construction and civil engineering industry as a member of the workforce, to help them understand the potential hazards that they face at work on site. The Site Safety Plus 1 day CITB health and safety awareness course provides a practical summary of safety, welfare and environmental issues identifying individual responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, what the employers duties are and what should be done if they think anyones safety and health is being put at risk. The aims and objectives of the CITB health and safety awareness course are to ensure that individual responsibilities are understood: why they are carrying out their identified duties what is expected of them to ensure that they contribute to the safety of the workplace To ensure that the end of the CITB health and safety in construction course delegates will be able to: understand the need to prevent accidents have an understanding of the law identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site understand the need for risk assessments and method statements appreciate the need to perform safely and to stop and ask for advice if not sure feel obliged to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident IMPORTANT INFORMATION Photographic I.D. is required for all delegates Written parental consent is required for all delegates under 18 years of age Failure to provide this on the first day of the course is likely to result in the delegate not being allowed to attend or complete the training.

The Level 5 Certificate in Managing Developer Services for the Water and Environmental Industries is aimed at learners who wish to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the design and construction of Water and Wastewater Network infrastructure assets and services. The qualification addresses the technical needs of managers and others working in the Water and Environmental Industries and will provide learners with a thorough understanding of the rationale for Water and Wastewater planning, design, construction and asset installation. The qualification will address the impact that commercial sustainable development has on the broader Water and Environmental infrastructure and assess the industries ability to renew, extend, repair and replace Water and Wastewater network assets.

We deliver CSCS approved courses from the Base Business Space in Hull throughout the week. We also have access to a onsite CITB Test Centre! We have been supporting clients gain a CSCS Labourers and Skilled cards for over 10 years!

The 2-day SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) training course is one of the courses that forms part of the CITB Site Safety Plus range of courses and is available via a network of CITB accredited providers.

Three Hour Course Cost:  £50 + vat per person Catastrophic Bleeding is an excellent course designed for First Aiders who are involved in high-risk working environments. This 3-hour course will provide learners with guidance on Catastrophic Bleeding control, including dealing with the inherent dangers associated with the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering First Aid in a high-risk working environment. Learners must hold a valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate in order to attend the course. SYLLABUS A range of subjects is covered including:   Equipment Primary survey Catastrophic bleeding Haemostatic dressings Tourniquets Top-to-toe survey Environmental issues Handover to the emergency services Maximum of 16 People A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course. Age limit learners must be a minimum of 16 years of age to attend the course. CERTIFICATION Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual throughout the course and issue a non-regulated Certificate of Achievement where the required level of attainment has been met. Welcome to Refashion My Town’s upcycled Denim Design competition! Refashion My Town is a social enterprise based in Chippenham. Our mission is to help and encourage young people to make a positive social and environmental impact through fashion. Our goal is to highlight the impact that fast fashion has on the environment and while doing so, we aim to help young people reduce, reuse, refashion and mend more. And what better way to start is by participating and joining our Upcycled Denim Design Competition!  Why Denim? Denim has become an integral part of everyday life, but it wasn’t always like that. Denim was long known to be worn by working class individuals such as miners, railroad workers and even labourers, before booming into a fashion trend that had not ceased to stop. Now you see denim worn by nearly everyone across the globe due to its easy and comfortable wear. However, denim has done more than become a global fashion trend, it has also contributed to the slow destruction of the environment. Most demin products are made with an overwhelmingly large number of dyes that are highly toxic and damaging. Denim also relies on cotton that needs lots of water and pesticides to grow. Pesticides are harmful to human health and can become an environmental risk but that is just one part of the problem. The production of one pair of jeans could require up to 80 gallons of water which is around 360 litres. This is a lot! This is why here at Refashion my Town, we want young people to reduce, reuse, refashion and mend more to combat the issues the fashion industry has on society and environment. Our upcycled Denim design competition is open to 14-18 year olds on Friday 22nd April 2022 and submissions will close on Monday 5th September 2022. This competition requires you to EITHER:  A. A 3-minute video explaining the concept, inspiration, and idea of your upcycled denim design. We would like to see a mock-up of your design within your presentation, as well as before and after of the material used. You can also include a completed final product or garment but this is optional.  Or B. 1 x A3 sheet with design concept 1 x A3 sheet with design development 1 x A3 sheet with final design including before and after Mock-up of final design ( Final product - optional ).  Please note: this is a design ( NOT sewing ) competition, so entries will mainly be judged based on creative flair and out of the box thinking, rather than technical sewing skills. So play and have fun developing your ideas. Refashion My Town will also have FREE drop-in sessions every Friday at 3.30 - 5 pm, starting 29th April, to help entrants develop their ideas and if necessary, learn new skills to complete their entries.
