Welcome to Wyre Forest School. We are a broad spectrum special needs school for children aged 3 to 19. We also have Russell House, a 16-bed weekly residential unit. We have only been in our building since April 2015. Previous to this the school was on two sites following the Wyre Forest restructuring in 2011 (Bewdley Road site, formerly Blakebrook, and Comberton Road site, formerly Stourminster). We share our campus with St John's Church of England School and Baxter College. Our Early Years Hub includes a Nursery Assessment Class, which can take up to 25 children. We have a state-of-the-art science lab housed within Baxter College. We also have a vocational hub and a Sixth Form which prepares children for life after school. Offsite we run the award-winning Blossom Tree Café in Springfield Park. Our vision is to truly ensure that we meet the individual needs of all children at WFS and prepare them for adulthood. At our school We Foster Success by providing a safe, happy environment in which all pupils can develop and achieve. We work tirelessly to meet the needs of all the children, so they develop and progress academically, socially, emotionally and physically. Our values of enthusiasm, resilience, honesty, teamwork and trust shine out from all that we do. We have an exciting curriculum which is broad and balanced and make the use of our specialist facilities; including soft play, dark room, sensory rooms, vocational hub, hydropool, gym and riding for the disabled. We are also a communication specialist school and use sign-a-long, PECS and communication passports. Building on Betel UK’s 25-year track record as a national charity helping the marginalised, homeless and addicted, Anchor Point will address head-on the hardships of social exclusion, substance dependencies, family breakdown and unemployment in one of Britain’s most under-resourced urban wards. The three-fold vision is: to create a thriving community hub that integrates seven family-friendly businesses, each serving the public, that simultaneously deliver a range of employment skills and addictions- recovery training all under one roof. Anchor Point will offer a safe, welcoming environment to residents and university students of greater Aston where they can flourish. Hundreds will enjoy an impressive restaurant serving homemade food, drinks and baked goods, affordable arts performance and fitness training, a children’s softplay arena, a gender-neutral hair and nail salon, catered banqueting, plus multi-purpose meeting and conference facilities for hire. All these diverse activities inter-link, sharing one 40,000-square-foot building just outside the boundary of Birmingham’s Clear Air Zone. When compared to most other social inclusion models nationwide, Anchor Point’s multi-purpose skills training sets it apart as truly exceptional. All seven social enterprises will be staffed by recovering Betel residents, each a member of our successful, therapeutic, work-based recovery model. This means that Anchor Point not only promises essential socialising for scores of city-wide youths and families. But it will also serve as a healing, restorative workplace, helping men and women to break with substance and welfare dependencies alike. Together, the businesses will simultaneously train for future employment more than 60 men and women in the process of rebuilding their lives and families after years of life-controlling drugs and alcohol addictions, homelessness and criminal offending. Anchor Point revives the power of local community. It is a visionary investment in lives where restored men and women, now clean from addictive substances, re-build confidence and a vitally important work ethic as they “give back” to others. The Green Light Driving School is a MTO certified driving school that is dedicated to teaching defensive driving tactics to teens and adults throughout the GTA in an environment where learning is enjoyable, timetables are flexible, and absolute customer satisfaction is a priority and guarantee. We give the required 20 hours in the classroom, as well as 10 hours of in-car training and 10 hours of homework. Our objective is to offer individuals with the greatest degree of driving education possible in order to keep our roads and highways safe for all users. This includes in-class driving lessons, defensive driving school, professional license classes and of course; in-car lessons. When you finish our program, you will be able to drive with confidence in any scenario or location. We provide affordable New Driver Driving Programs to people of all ages, with a simple payment plan. WHAT DO WE OFFER? We offer weekend classes, evening sessions throughout the fall and winter, 4-day holiday classes, and weekday courses during the summer holidays every year. Our classes range from a large variety – from private driving classes, G2 and G lessons, online driving courses to many other driving school programs. If you are unable to attend a session, you can make it up at any time throughout the year. The Green Light Driving lessons are designed to help you pass you’re driving exam and get your driver's licence, and they cover defensive driving and parallel parking. Driver education training at Green Light Driving School must cover emergency techniques and ways to avoid the hazards of distracted driving. G1 licence holders who successfully complete the course may be eligible for a 4-month reduction in the 12-month minimum G1-licensing duration. Qualified Green Light Driving School graduates may potentially qualify for a reduction in insurance prices. Our G2 and G lessons run year-round.
