Hove Park Nevill Campus

hove park nevill campus

East Sussex,

On behalf of the Governing Body, we are delighted to welcome you to Hove Park School – a true community school where ‘together we achieve’. The Governors at Hove Park are a group of committed and passionate volunteers that support and challenge the school to ensure all students can achieve the best possible educational outcomes. Our Governing Body encompasses a variety of skills, backgrounds and experiences, together with a diversity of view, in order to carry out our key responsibilities. Our role is to be the strategic leaders of the school and we have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education within a safe, stimulating and highly positive environment. To ensure effective governance we focus on three core strategic functions: Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and it’s students , and the effective and efficient performance management of the staff. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent. You can read more about how governors work to lead schools effectively on the National Governance Association’s website. At Hove Park, we recognise the key role that the whole community, particularly parents and carers, play in developing a successful school where students learn and develop to their full potential. We work collaboratively with the local authority, as well as our partner secondary and primary schools and their governors across Brighton & Hove.

We are extremely lucky to have access to a beautiful woodland with two meadows, nestled on a gentle slope on the stunning South Downs. We also have a fantastic view across to Lewes and Firle. Having the chance to shine, to experience personal satisfaction, enjoyment and achievement is good for anyone. It increases motivation and general happiness in life. All children and young people deserve to experience this! Children love learning outside and at South Downs Forest School we offer a wide range of bespoke Forest School Programmes and Outdoor Learning events to support children and young people from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds with their learning, development and wellbeing. Overwhelming evidence shows that children are often happier learning outside; rich, exciting and stimulating, woodlands provide opportunities to learn a wide range of skills as well as develop emotional intelligence, resilience and well being. We are passionate about getting children and young people back into contact with nature and support them in discovering this rich and stimulating learning environment. If you have a group of children that would like to come and experience a Forest School programme or Outdoor Learning session, we can offer bespoke programmes or events to suit your needs. Sessions are led by an enthusiastic teacher with experience in many fields of education, Forest School, Outdoor Learning, Special Educational Needs and Well Being. We believe that the Forest School experience, with its strong element of self-directed learning over an extended period, encourages self confidence, self esteem, problem solving and team building. Enriched Outdoor Learning translates to healthier, happier children with improved performance, in terms of both learning, behaviour and mental health.

Crawley

Welcome to our website where I hope you will be able to access everything you need to know about St Wilfrid’s. This is a great school, one where we strive to create a purposeful, accepting and caring environment where students develop and flourish intellectually, morally, physically and spiritually. We believe that true education is concerned with the holistic development of each child; their growth into fine young men and women of integrity, ready to make a positive contribution to society is just as important as their qualifications. We do this by educating the whole person, celebrating their uniqueness and striving for the highest of standards. Our success comes by challenging every student to be the best they can be in everything they think, say and do. By doing this within a community rooted in Gospel values, we promote hard work, tolerance, love and forgiveness. The standards we set are high and students really do work hard to live up to them. The staff at St Wilfrid’s work tirelessly to ensure that our students get the best educational experience possible with the result that students make great progress academically whilst developing into fine young adults ready to make a difference to the world. St Wilfrid’s is a special place with an amazing atmosphere, but don’t just take my word for it. Lucy has been involved in property development and investing with developers for many years, building projects in England, Scotland, France and Barbados. Sustainable development is the only future, with our advice and unique certification, developers can be placed ahead of their competitors and create faster, easier to sell homes. Lucy relishes the opportunity to collaborate with developers to advance the use of sustainable practices during the planning stage. Please use the Contact page to get in touch about this subject. Creating Awareness Plastic in our oceans is a huge environmental and health problem. Reducing plastic from our everyday lives will help reduce the need for and cost of recycling. This is important because recycling streams are not correctly managed, and many are dysfunctional. We also need to correctly dispose of our plastic and other unwanted items, choosing to reuse, repurpose or give it away. Keeping plastic out of our oceans (and our food chain) is a big issue which is why I organise beach and underwater clean ups wherever and whenever I can. I also enjoy visiting schools to give presentations that include short videos about marine life, and coral reefs. Plus, we discuss the different types of plastic, how it is affecting the environment and how we can all try to ‘Say No To Plastic’. Please get in touch via the contact page if you would like a free school or community presentation visit, because this is something I’m passionate about doing. "Just a note to say thank you so much for the wonderful talk you gave the year 2 classes. The feedback has been amazing! All the kids were full of facts and information last night, it seems they have learnt a lot. The books have gone down a storm too and your photos are stunning. Thank you!"
