Bedford

Formed in April 2017, we run Elstow School, Bedford Free School and Queen’s Park Academy. We are opening a brand new secondary school, Houstone School, in September 2022. We believe very strongly in our values, which guide everything we do. We exist to serve our communities – the pupils and families of Bedford and Central Bedfordshire – in order to offer a real choice of education. We specialise in an academic education that offers excellent outcomes, a great learning environment with routines and structures that ensure excellent behaviour, and phenomenal extra-curricular opportunities. Our schools are genuinely comprehensive, and we believe that every child can go on to achieve extraordinary things. We ensure that our curriculum is rich in knowledge, expect hard work and do not make excuses. We believe in working together with families to support our high expectations that meet young peoples’ aspirations. Every pupil should have the option to go to university at 18, and for the vast majority this should be the choice of highly-selective universities. We hence craft our curriculum around the core knowledge contained in traditional academic subjects. We believe all of our pupils have a right to the assumed knowledge that educated people take for granted, and aspire to ensure that all of our pupils join the community of educated citizens. We are outward-facing, sharing all of what we do with other trusts, professionals and anyone who is interested.

Samuel Whitbread Academy

Shefford

We offer an exceptional academic and extracurricular experience at Samuel Whitbread Academy in an outstanding learning environment where students are expected to work hard and achieve their best. In our last Ofsted inspection, we were judged as ‘Good’ with many outstanding features and over the next three years we have set ourselves the target of being Outstanding! Our GCSE results are amongst the best in the local authority. We offer a well-balanced curriculum with plenty of choice to prepare our students for the next stage in their lives. Most of our students continue on to the Sixth Form, which is one of the largest and highest performing in the area - providing students with a huge range of courses designed to match the expectations of universities and employers. Our pastoral care is exceptional and we have dedicated pastoral support teams for each year group. The academy is also broken down into five houses, named after people who have made a distinctive contribution to our community. These provide the framework for the multitude of different competitions, celebrations and charity events that bring our school community together during the year. Extracurricular opportunity is a vital part of our ethos and we expect all of our students to get involved in at least one club or activity. There are a huge number of opportunities ranging from highly competitive sports teams to spectacular drama and musical performances. We enjoy showing visitors around the school so please take the opportunity to come and see us during the school day, so you can see the school in action and we can answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you.

Coombeshead Academy is a thriving 11-18 school with students joining us from a range of partner primary schools across Newton Abbot and the surrounding area. We also welcome students from other secondary schools into Year 12 where they can study A Levels and vocational Level 3 courses in our successful Sixth Form collaboration with Teign School and South Devon UTC. Our school forms part of Education South West (ESW) where we work in partnership and collaboration with other schools to build success for young people across South Devon. Our school vision is based on: Inspiring Excellence We believe that every young person should have the opportunity to learn in a stimulating and inspirational environment where they can be challenged at the highest levels, as well supported and nurtured, to achieve their very best. Our core values of Positive Attitude, Endeavour, Achievement, Community and Enrichment underpin all our decisions and interactions with students and families. We offer a broad and balanced academic curriculum. We focus relentlessly on the experiences and outcomes our students receive during their time with us so that they are fully equipped with the qualifications and life experiences needed to be successful adults. ‘Growing you whole self’ by accessing the wider curriculum offer that is available at school is a central element of our school. The whole self is about being a leader, taking part and generally exploiting every opportunity that is offered by the school. These core values are encapsulated in our motto of the Coombeshead Way Turn up and be ready: We want every student here at school every day. We know that good attendance guarantees good outcomes and therefore better life chances to get the jobs they want in the future. By being ready to learn with the right attitude and the right equipment no learning time is wasted and the progress our young people make every lesson can be maximised. Work hard: By putting in 100% effort every lesson, every day and never giving up even when facing challenges with new learning and with more difficult concepts. Be nice: We want all our young people to focus on treating each other with respect and tolerance as well as allowing everyone to learn and excel in every lesson We have a caring, disciplined, family atmosphere. All our students are known and treated as individuals. We have high standards, and we place particular emphasis on school uniform 11-16, exemplary behaviour, attendance and punctuality. We value all our staff, and we ensure their skills and knowledge are second to none through a comprehensive professional learning programme.

The Seeds Of Change Uk

the seeds of change uk

Buckinghamshire,

To put it simply, we do it because we know that our methods genuinely work and can change lives. Our coaches find nothing more fulfilling than helping a learner to trust, learn and grow. We make BOLD claims about the work that we do at The Seeds of Change We make BOLD claims about the way that horses can help all of us to overcome challenges in life which limit our ability or potential in some way. We can do this, because we have almost 15 years of experience working with thousands of people and have seen the results for ourselves. We set ourselves a simple target to enable people to make a change in their life for good. To meet that objective, we are flexible, agile, experienced and totally focused on every individual who works with us - constantly refining and adapting our sessions to meet the present needs as they arise, but always focused on a longer-term objective as defined at the start. We are continuously learning and developing our work, and never cease stretching the potential of what can be achieved, whether that be in the real or virtual world. Every day we witness new and amazing ways our horses and clients interact with each other and this inspires the way we work. After all, the most important therapeutic tool is the connection between client and horse – we are just the facilitators! We work with adults, families and children. We are commissioned by Local Authorities, schools, support agencies, and parents, both as funded and private referrals. We have worked with more than 5000 clients, many of whom are children who are highly vulnerable or are experiencing socially debilitating conditions and present a vast array of behaviours when they are referred to us. Some of the stories of what they have achieved are simply amazing. View our case studies and testimonials to discover more… We can deliver sessions in person and virtual courses - more details of these can be found here. If you are looking for a fresh, non-judgemental, confidential, and effective way to move forwards in life, then consider The Seeds of Change. We cannot think of a better place to start to make a change for life than outside in the fresh air with a horse. Please get in touch to find out more about our approach and the way our sessions work. We offer sessions on a 1-1 basis which aim to overcome specific challenges. We offer supportive group sessions which can aid social development, help to build relationships, and encourage confidence and positive interactions in the wider social environment. We offer a range of academic courses which support educational development and transition into the workplace, including City and Guilds qualifications. We adhere to strict Safeguarding and Compliance documents and procedures to meet all Educational Standards. And most excitingly we can also now offer our work virtually to enable clients from further away to access our work too.
