Hi, I am both a qualified commercial and domestic heating engineer with 40 years experience in the field. I set up an independent heating design consultancy in 2014 after designing & installing plant rooms & systems for most of my career ( www.robberridge.co.uk ) and am now fully engaged with this and my heat calculation software company with two other directors. After coming off the tools for some six years now and designing many plant rooms and systems for my new clients, I bring a unique perspective that bridges the often large gap between installation engineers and architects/building services engineers. Offering fully scaled CAD drawings, specifications and tender documents that all parties fully understand has kept me really busy and my life, 'interesting'. I also offer training courses in building heat loss, system calculation and specification to which I partner with IMI-Hydronics. Young Engineers - Essex UKBig Builders K’NEX program (Children aged 3-5) K’NEX are bricks which are larger than LEGO and easier for our young engineers to handle. Children develop their tactile, motor, and spatial skills as they build their models and learn science and engineering principles. These programs are conducted in small group settings to ensure that each engineer gains the intended knowledge and experience and that we can give the children plenty of time to ask questions.

Marconi Sailing Club is open for anyone to join, subject to the normal formalities. The club site is a green field of some 10 acres, with ample boat storage space, parking and a wide launching ramp accessible at all states of tide. Our two storey club house boasts hot showers, a cosy bar, professionally catered galley, as well as the usual facilities you would expect to find at a sailing club. Sailing Waters The club sails in the wide tidal estuary of the River Blackwater, with launching and sailing possible at any state of the tide. The River is ideal for exploring the islands of Osea and Northey and trips can be made to Bradwell and Maldon. Beyond Bradwell the North Sea beckons our more intrepid sailors. Racing The club has a diverse sailing calendar which runs from mid March to the end of October. There are traditionally two races on a Sunday, one starting at 11am and the other at around 2pm. On Sundays there are separate starts for different fleets, usually two catamaran fleets and three dinghy fleets. During these times our support boats will be on the water manned by club volunteers . If you don’t want to race then feel free to explore the River Blackwater and cruise. There are number of other events planned throughout the year including Dinghy Cruises to destinations near and far, Friday night sailing and a Wednesday evening pursuit race along with a range of other events. Check out or sailing programme for more information. Classes Sailed Sailors at Marconi sail a range of classes including Tornado, F18, Sprint 15 and Spitfire Catamarans. For those with only one hull there are Solos, Toppers, Picos, Lasers, Larks, Wayfarers, Wanderers and many more. Cruiser Section Our cruiser section if almost full due to the excellent mooring and storage facilities available at reasonable prices. The club can only achieve this by the ‘Self Help’ philosophy that we engineer.
