Emergency Paediatric First Aid delivered by healthcare professionals - Educating through Experience

Safer recruitment is designed to help those who are responsible for employing anyone who works with vulnerable groups, to identify and deter or reject individuals who are deemed to be at risk of abusing. It is crucial that all employers have a recruitment policy in place that takes into account safer recruitment best practices and considerations. This course covers key topics including: advertising, application forms, selecting candidates for interview based on the information they have presented, and post-interview checks - including DBS checks - before making an offer of employment. Recruitment of staff is now a complex process and there are many issues that need to be considered to ensure safe and successful recruitment, to reduce in turn the risk of harm, abuse and neglect of adults and children.

Basic Life Support Qualification Four Hours Cost:  £40 + vat per person A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course, and all candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age to qualify. SYLLABUS This regulated Level 2 Basic Life Support qualification will give learners the skills, knowledge and practical competence to administer First Aid until Professional Medical help arrives. It is particularly suitable for healthcare professionals for the purpose of Continual Professional Development (CPD. SYLLABUS A range of subjects are covered including: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Primary Survey Choking Assessment and Marking Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Recovery Position CERTIFICATION This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. The learner will need to complete the full course again to qualify for a further three years. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. Immediate Life Support • ILS Training The Immediate Life Support (ILS) course provides the necessary knowledge and skills when dealing with cardiac arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This qualification is valid for 3 years although HSE guidelines state that employers should ensure their first aiders remain competent to perform their role. As such, it is strongly recommended that first aiders undertake annual refresher training to practise their skills and update their knowledge on the latest first aid procedures.
