The NSN is a company limited by guarantee which is owned by its members on behalf of the nine provider networks spread across the north of England. The company’s primary purpose is to promote & represent the interests of its member networks. In addition, the company aims to ultimately be a single voice for skills across the North of England. The Northern Skills Network Ltd (NSN) is a not-for-profit organisation and Its aim is to represent training and education providers from all persuasions across the north of England and promote the value of vocational and technical education, especially apprenticeships, to employers and other important stakeholders. Its members consist the nine providers networks across the north including: North East, Tees Valley, Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Greater Merseyside, West Yorkshire, Sheffield City Region and Cheshire and Warrington. In all NSN represents over 300 providers, ranging from FE Colleges, Independent training Providers, Universities, Local Authorities and 3rd sector charitable organisations. As the name implies, NSN is both aligned to and supports the Northern Powerhouse agenda and is passionate, through its members, to play its part in increasing the productivity and prosperity of the north through increasing the skill levels of both young people entering work for the first time and existing employees within the workforce.

All our clients recieve a personal serevice and have direct contact with the fire risk assessor or trainer that delivers the service, with FREE OF CHARGE advice over the phone. Clients deal directly with the assessor or trainer and queries are usualy resolved immediately. All our fire risk assessors and fire safety trainers have had full careers in the fire service both as fire fighters and fire officers responsible for the safety and training of their crews. This gives us an unparalleled experience and knowledge of fire safety, fire behaviour, how to protect against fire and how to safely extinguish it. We have also ALL undertaken nationally recognised qualifications relevant to the service we deliver. We are taking measures to ensure that the wellbeing of all employees, students and suppliers is paramount during this global pandemic. Official guidance from WHO and PHE is being monitored to ensure compliance and appropriate responses. All staff have been fully briefed with regard to appropriate practices to ensure the spread of the virus is minimised. By maintaining rigorous cleanliness and hygiene standards across all of our sites we aim to minimise the spread of the virus. Full Risk Assessments have been adopted and we are working with customers, families, carers and other third parties to ensure appropriate management of our practices and procedures. Flexible, engaging and fully supported vocational day provision for young adults 16-24 and adults 25+ with mild to moderate learning difficulties/disabilities, brain injuries, autism and/or mental health located in Great Barr and Tamworth. Since 1996 we have recognised that adults who learn differently can enjoy increased independence, improved wellbeing and greater life choices through our vocational learning provision. The cut-backs in free education courses through colleges has necessitated an alternative approach which led to the establishment of Community Prospects. We felt that it was crucial that the continued funding changes should not take away the significant progress that we had seen in 100’s of students since 1996.
