Community Links is a Lanarkshire-based organisation, established in 2002, with a proven track record and passion for working with communities to inspire local champions to identify, develop, and create long-lasting, community-owned change. Our current activities include: Engaging with communities and involving them in decision-making processes. Increasing community capacity and involvement utilising Asset Based Community Development, Participatory Budgeting, and Co-Production. Facilitating community consultations and events by promoting the Community Planning Partnership objectives to the communities using innovative methods of communication. Encouraging volunteering opportunities by recruiting, training, and supporting local volunteers to deliver services and opportunities for the benefit of their local communities. Employability SELECT (Supporting Employment and Learning by Empowering Communities in Technology) by increasing digital access and providing guidance and support, enhancing ICT skills, supporting education/training and job opportunities. Providing information/communication to ensure individuals and communities are aware of services and opportunities, using appropriate methods. Developing true and representative community engagement to help shape delivery in communities to improve people's quality of life. Improving our commitment to the environment and social responsibility in our communities and workplace through our environmental policy. We are a value based organisation and these values are reflected in how we conduct our work and interact with the communities we serve.

The Arts Excite C.I.C is a social enterprise that helps young people fulfil their potential by giving them the confidence, training and experience needed to gain a career in the creative industry. We do this by delivering various creative arts and media learning programmes and social action arts projects. These activities build and develop skills, which hone and harness the creative talents of the young people we support, as well as develop employability, team building, leadership, planning and problem-solving skills. Our learning programmes and arts projects are facilitated by creative industry professionals who have a creative and engaging approach to teaching and learning. As a result of this, of the young people we have supported 42% have gone into employment 8% have sought further training 33% have completed other courses 17% started volunteering We are proud of our success and we are always seeking to engage with new partners and spread our work to other geographical areas. These programmes can be delivered to small and large groups of people over a period ranging from a ½ day to a series of one day events. Our programmes are delivered by a team of experienced staff who are dedicated to breaking down barriers which may have precluded many people from reaching their full potential. Each member of the team will have extensive experience in working with young people and engaging them in a number of activities that are designed to build confidence levels. This is the first step towards building aspirations which can lead to successful and fulfilling employment. By working closely with key business partners in the community in the design and deliver stage of each programme, we can ensure that the content of each programme reflects current business trends as well as the challenges facing the business world today. Since 1965 Apex has been promoting employment as a route out of offending for people with a criminal record. Our charity delivers support to help those with complex, multiple needs to overcome the barriers they face in moving from dependency on welfare and crime to becoming self-sustaining members of communities. We have long-standing knowledge of how best to address the impact of a criminal record through appropriate forms of disclosure and apply this knowledge to support both job-seekers and employers. We also work with people over many years to help them develop the skills, attributes and the knowledge they need to improve employability and secure paid employment. Our work has helped many people with criminal records to move into further and higher education, access training or start voluntary work, and secure and sustain paid employment (including self-employment). We have worked in the Merseyside region since 1996 offering a tailored service to ex/offenders and those at risk of offending to move away from a life of crime to employment, training, and education (ETE) and voluntary work. We work with local adult ex-offenders to release their full potential and support them to break down the barriers they face.

Engage Renfrewshire is a third sector interface (TSI); this means that we support local charities and other not-for-profit groups. Now in its 12th year Engage Renfrewshire support local organisations to be well managed, well resourced, well represented and well connected. Engage Renfrewshire provides advice and support to all community focussed groups who want to start up or develop further. We support social enterprises, community development trusts, charitable groups, mutual aid groups and more. We help groups to build capacity and to be safe, by providing information, advice and training for everything from charitable structures to funding. We have a comprehensive volunteering service. We support volunteer involving organisations with recruitment and volunteer support, and work with individuals to find them rewarding and uplifting volunteer opportunities. We also work with local charities and public sector bodies to promote volunteering for all. Our financial services social enterprise, Engage Finance, offers payroll, HR and financial services to individuals and organisations in Renfrewshire and beyond. Our space in Ferguslie Park is a community hub where we host training and networking opportunities as well as hosting other third sector organisations and charities. We are part of local community planning and actively support collaborative working with the public and private sectors to ensure that people and services are working together, in the most effective way possible. We support and advise many community agendas across Renfrewshire including Renfrewshire’s Health and Social Care Partnership, Local Employability Partnership, Future Paisley, RenSEN (Renfrewshire Social Enterprise Network), and Renfrewshire’s Youth Work Network.
