lgbt health and wellbeing

Established in 2003, LGBT Health and Wellbeing works to improve the health, wellbeing and equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Scotland. We provide support services, social events and develop resources so LGBT people can address the health issues that impact their lives and connect with their local communities. We address health inequalities with a wide range of partners to ensure LGBT people have access to quality healthcare that is inclusive of their needs.

Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people through fuel poverty and food insecurity. We deliver a range of projects, events and skills training to achieve the needs and goals of local people – building resilience as a community and working towards a future where everyone can

All Together Edinburgh is a social enterprise with charitable status. It was set up in 2010 after recognising that there were very few training opportunities for people with learning disabilities to learn skills that would help them work within the retail/charity retailing sector or customer facing environment. We wanted to create more training and employment opportunities by delivering a training programme that would not only improve employability skills, confidence and self-esteem, but deliver an accredited, person-centred course that resulted in a recognised qualification. We decided that the training would be best delivered in a charity shop and we opened our first shop in June, 2011. The charity shop is an ideal practical setting to learn an array of skills relevant to the retail field. It also gives the trainee an opportunity to interact with the public and to increase awareness of people with learning disabilities. This is a unique enterprise and is the first of it’s kind in Scotland!

We will provide funding to support the advancement of education. We will work to enhance the life chances of the young people in Preston Lodge High School and its wider community, through inclusion, working with and for the young people to support and help them to reach their full potential. We will advance education by providing access to creative, practical hands on projects and activities which will enhance learning opportunities, health and wellbeing. We will facilitate and focus on developing life skills to support young people with their employability and career options. We will encourage and support the teaching staff at Preston Lodge High School in their personal development and training. We will facilitate and encourage former pupils, existing pupils, Parents, Carers, Community Organisations and Local Businesses to aid and further develop the learning culture created within Preston Lodge High School. We will engage, encourage and provide access to volunteering opportunities in all areas of our work.
