Here at Communicate-ed we are passionate about seeing people developed to their true potential. To that end, we provide practical, value-for money, relevant training for education professionals involved in the area of Special Needs We have a range of courses which cover a variety of roles at Secondary School and Further Education level. These include a brief overview for general staff, training for Teaching Assistants acting as Readers and Scribes, Invigilators overseeing exams, SENCos and Examination Officers organising support during the exam period, as well as Access Arrangements Assessors and Educational Psychologists assessing students. Our training for Language Modifiers is run jointly with the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors and offers accreditation for successful delegates. Our other courses include input on a wide variety of subjects related to the support of students with special educational needs including Dyslexia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyscalculia and Behavioural Difficulties. We offer training for Access Arrangements Assessors including courses recognised by the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee for core CPD when updating SpLD Assessment Practising Certificates. We are also passionate about raising funds for charitable projects which support educational opportunities, particularly for those caught in poverty in the UK and overseas. To date we have been able to donate over £865,000 to a variety of causes.

Many of the Click IT! children were growing up and I lost count of the number of times that parents asked me about whether I offered touch typing courses! So as a two-finger typist myself, I decided I wanted to learn but I was completely disappointed with the quality of the courses that were on offer. So I decided to set up my own and in September 2011, Type IT! was born.

Who We Are & Where We Are High Peak School is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2014.Our specialist multi-disciplinary team of leaders, carers, therapists and educationalists work seamlessly together. They teach and proactively support pupils who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental wellbeing difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. Children and young people may also come to us because they are challenged by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and dyspraxia or moderate and specific learning difficulties. Learning Solutions is an organisation established in 1996 to help individuals to reach their true potential through the use of developmental movement, sound stimulation and perceptual motor programmes. We are proud to be the International Representative for Advanced Brain Technologies, creators of The Listening Program® and other neuroscience-based music programmes. We offer professional accredited training programmes in The Listening Program, inTime®, The Movement Program®, TAVS (Test of Auditory and Visual Skills) and Brain Gym®. Working with many health and education professionals, Learning Solutions offers continued support to our network of trained Providers. Learning Solutions offers both training for professionals and schools, as well as assessment and consultation services for individuals with learning challenges and sensory processing difficulties. Over many years, Primary and Secondary Schools in the UK and internationally have benefited from our INSET and training packages as well as workshops for children. Alan Heath is our consultant and trainer. With a background in psychology and NLP, he has spent many years training extensively in the areas of sensory integration, bi-lateral integration, primitive reflexes and sound therapies with a particular interest in the integration and processing of sensory information at a neurodevelopmental level. Alan presents at most of the major Educational Conferences in the UK and works extensively in schools in the UK and internationally, training teachers in Auditory and Sensory Processing, The Movement Program and The Listening Program. He is the co-developer of The Movement Program and TAVS (Test of Auditory and Visual Skills and is the author of "Beating Dyslexia A Natural Way" published in 1997. In 2016, Brunel celebrated 50 years as a university. However, our history can be traced back much further to 1798 through our predecessor colleges of Borough Road College, Maria Grey College, Shoreditch College and the West London Institute of Higher Education and as well as through Acton Technical College then Brunel College. Our rise since 1966 has been impressive and our reputation grows year on year. Now a university of 12,746 students – 3,309 students engaged in postgraduate and research study – our special approach is to combine academic rigour with the practical, entrepreneurial and imaginative approach pioneered by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The decision to be named after Isambard Kingdom Brunel was taken after much discussion. Rather than name the new College after a location, Dr Topping, the first Vice Chancellor of Brunel University (and former Principal of Brunel College) pleaded that the name should be a well-known person preferably an engineer or scientist associated in some way with Middlesex or Acton. Agreement was reached in March 1957 that person would be Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859) is one of the great British engineers of the 19th century. Isambard was born into an industrious family in 1806, with his mother Sophia Kingdom working for the Royal Navy and father Marc Brunel being a prominent French engineer. Isambard took on formal training as an engineer and went on to build twenty-five railways lines, over a hundred bridges, including five suspension bridges, eight pier and dock systems, three ships and a pre-fabricated army field hospital.To add to this he was a keen social engineer, building housing estates, churches and hospitals.
