Course ContentThe ALLMI Slinger / Signaller course content is extremely comprehensive and so cardholders are able to use their skills when performing Slinger / Signaller duties with other types of lifting equipment, not just lorry loaders. The Slinger / Signaller course consists of 13 modules (please click here for a list of course modules). The course duration is one day for experienced candidates and a minimum of two days for novice candidates. A maximum of four candidates can attend a course. Both courses culminate in a written and practical examination.AssessmentThe assessment process is set by ALLMI and administered by the Instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessments consist of a set of multiple choice and ‘open’ questions. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to perform their duties as a Slinger / Signaller safely and efficiently.Card, Certificate & ManualUpon successful completion of the course every candidate will receive an identity card and certificate, and will be registered on the ALLMI database. The identity card and certificate are valid for five years, after which time refresher training and assessments will need to be undertaken. Candidates also receive the ALLMI Slinger / Signaller manual, which is used as a reference guide throughout their career. Industry ExpertiseThe strength of ALLMI training comes from the technical and training knowledge of its Training Standards Committee. The Committee is made up of training and technical professionals from all the major loader crane manufacturers and importers within the UK. In addition, the Health and Safety Executive is represented. The Committee develops, consults upon and maintains all the training standards set by ALLMI.

ALLMI Lorry Loader -1 Day Refresher - 11th November 2023 -Periodic 7 Hour CPC Course  Equipment used - Lorry mounted cranes and Hook attachments.  Who Would Do This Training? Anyone who operates or intends to be operating lorry mounted cranes (sometimes referred to as HIAB’s) should undertake training as is required by the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998. The courses are made to suit novice operators, experienced operators, those refreshing their training, or for attachment conversions. The courses are designed to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment. HIAB is really a brand name and the correct term for the equipment is ‘lorry mounted crane’ or ‘lorry loader crane’ (when mounted to a commercial vehicle). Other manufacturers of these types of cranes include Atlas, Cormach, Fassi, HMF, Hyva, Palfinger, Penny Hydraulics and PM. Which Industries Train with ALLMI? The ALLMI Lorry Loader Course is recognised by CSCS. The Lorry Loader Crane courses and Slinger Signaller courses, certificated by ALLMI, cover a wide variety of hydraulic cranes, both manually and electronically operated. Candidates and businesses can select the attachments they will be using depending on their needs and equipment. These needs may include the size of equipment and other equipment specifications such as remote controls or lifting capacities.

The course will guide the attendee through best practice processes of safe washing, decontamination, inspection, paint protection and preservation, mild paint correction, leather, plastics and vinyl care, and discuss/apply the various protection options on offer including paint type suitability. Course Details: • Assessment of vehicle exterior & interior inspection. • Cleaning, decontamination & preparatory work of the vehicle body: Washing processes, Pre-wash & snow foam, multi bucket methods, acids and alkalis, fallout removers and in-depth cleaning practices. Use of low water, less invasive wash methods and drying techniques • Cleaning, decontamination & preparatory work of alloy, steel and wire wheels. • Paintwork inspection using lighting techniques, depth gauges, and visual cues. Identifying paint types and areas of concern, and how to address them. • Engine bay cleaning and steaming, what chemicals can be used where, brightwork and mare metal care, what can you safely clean? • Practical overview of machine polisher ranges and their usage. • Practical overview of various polishing compounds and pad combinations. • Paintwork and Wheel protection options and application technique. • Glass cleansing and protection practical overview. • Detailing tips and tricks to give you the best results. You will have hands-on experience starting from the very beginning and working your way through all steps of a full enhancement detail, it will then be up to you to build on the knowledge you have gained by practising on your own vehicle, with ongoing support. Our 201 Enthusiast detailing day was created for the hyper enthusiast who wants to correct and enhance their own vehicle, rather than just care for it. If you've attended our 101 Enthusiast, you're all covered skills-wise for the prior knowledge element, but for all others to benefit from this event you will need a solid knowledge of preparation work and wash procedure, as this is mostly focused on what comes after - namely paint correction. This is an intensive one-day group course, and there is time allotted at the end of the session to inspect your own vehicles if you need advice on particular issues. Our 201 Enthusiast detailing day was created for the hyper-enthusiast who wants to correct and enhance their own vehicle, rather than just care for it. Deeper defect removal, scratch hand sanding. Coatings, including ceramic and polymer, and their application. The day concludes with a Q&A session with a walk around your vehicles to advise on any issues. This is quite an intense enthusiast detailing day, as we are trying to fit so much in, so we will be running from 9.30 am until 16:00 with a break for lunch. You will have hands-on experience all day and will be working your way through all steps of a full correction, it will then be up to you to build on the knowledge you have gained by practising on your own vehicle, with ongoing support if needed.
