Featuring two towering performances from Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep, this courtroom drama has lost none of its power and nuance, and remains one of the best examinations of the breakdown of a relationship ever put to film. When it was released in 1979, it was one of the first time a film confronted issues such as work-life balance, father's rights and expected gender roles. Tim will speak about the following topics as well as others at the event: Approaches to Documentary How a Documentary Gets Made The Purpose of a Documentary Modern Combinations of CGI & Live Action Throughout students will have the chance to ask questions about the topics being discussed, before wrapping up with a wider Q+A session at the end. With Director Nathan Caselton Introduction You can prepare for the limelight with our screen acting workshop at the world famous Pinewood Studios. If you have a little or no experience, this workshop offers a practical syllabus setting a strong and broad base for you to build on. Covering a variety of screen scripts, you will be taught etiquette on the set, how warm up your body and voice, and how to bring scripts to life on screen. This workshop offers a friendly, fun and supportive environment. With a wealth of experience in both drama and commercial production, Nathan is well-versed in working with actors at various stages of their careers, from established professionals to beginners. His expertise lies in providing clear guidance and instilling confidence in actors, helping them build organic performances that shine on screen. Course Outline You will shoot a scene with an experienced Director who will share knowledge on shot sizes, continuity and eye lines, before providing an insight in to the audition process and the business of being a screen actor. The main aim of this workshop is to encourage and enable delegates to present their sales messages stylishly and persuasively to expert buying audiences and improve their conversion rates. The focus is placed firmly on performance and creativity in top level presenting. It is aimed at experienced sales professionals who are expert at selling but need to be able to present and pitch for business at high skill levels in order to land major accounts. Delegate numbers will be restricted to 4 people. Delegates should be willing and be prepared to give video-recorded presentations as part of the course. Course Syllabus The syllabus of the Sales Presenting course is comprised of two modules, covering the following: Module One Components of Top Presenting Preparation and performance in presenting Being stylish and compelling Differentiation, risk-taking and presenting Connecting with your audience Achieving impact and drama Creating a buying emotion Getting out of a comfort zone First delegate presentations Module Two Pitching in Teams Getting your act together - the plan Looking and sounding like a team The buyer's perspective Getting your moves right - choreography Dealing successfully with questions Rehearsing to succeed Second delegate presentations Dragon's Den Exercise The delegation is split into two groups, each with a specific product or service to win the Dragons' investment. They have to also present to the Dragon's Den their business case for feedback and negotiate with the Dragons to gain either an "I'm in" or an "I'm out" reply. Have a great time in the warmest and most welcoming space to try things out: Refresh an audition monologue from your repertoire Try something new with a speech Read a monologue for the first time Perhaps you just want to see how others approach a text. Or maybe you have a casting coming up… Participants may present a piece to the group, we then help to enhance the piece using the collective experience in the room, led by actor and acting coach Warren Rusher. We usually get through 6 or 7 pieces per month. Help each other to grow… you might have the perfect exercise or insight to help unlock a deeper understanding of character and text. There is no pressure to perform, you can just soak up the atmosphere and be part of the experience.
