<p fr-original-style="" style="font-size: 16px; color: var(--text); box-sizing: border-box;">This short introduction (10 mins) explains HTC (HTC stands for Heating Transfer Coefficient).&nbsp;</p><p fr-original-style="" style="font-size: 16px; color: var(--text); box-sizing: border-box;">It also helps people understand the movement of heat - how it moves at different speeds into the home and out of the home.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="font-size: 16px; color: var(--text); box-sizing: border-box;">SmartHTC (which uses an algorithm designed by Build Test Solutions) is a new way to measure how much heat a home needs. It is more accurate than using U-value calculations. A U-value calculation involves multiplying the U-value by areas. However, this makes the assumption that each square meter of a wall performs exactly the same. How Is The RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Online Course Delivered?
We cover all the course material in text AND video so that you can choose which works best for you.
You will be led through the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean online course module by module with each module broken up into lessons and knowledge checks. We have designed the lessons to be as engaging as possible and the knowledge checks are implemented to consolidate your knowledge and keep you on track when completing our RYA online courses.
At the end of each module there will be a 'module assessment.' These will be made up of the official RYA exercise questions and will give you some familiarity of what the final exam will look like. Your answers to the module assessments are checked by our qualified instructors, your results are saved, and you'll be given personal feedback on your progress.

What About The RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Exam?
Once all the Yachtmaster Ocean coursework has been completed, we will help you decide if you are ready for the online RYA Yachtmaster Ocean exam. The Yachtmaster Ocean exam is two hours and it's all completed at home, in a format that you will be familiar with from the Yachtmaster Ocean module assessments, and you'll be given feedback from your examiner.
There are no extra fees for the exam (unless you need it invigilated for commercial purposes*).
This is not an attendance course and we cannot guarantee everyone who signs up that they will pass the Yachtmaster Ocean Theory online exam and get a certificate. However, we do endeavour to coach every student to a passing standard and inspire them along the way and we promise that so long as you are willing to put the effort in and accept our guidance, we won’t give up on you until you pass.
Once you have passed, you will receive your RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Theory certificate in the post. To complete your qualifications you will need to undertake an ocean crossing and subsequently book an oral exam with an RYA Ocean Examiner. We can help arrange this.
*A few students intending to use the RYA Yachtmaster certificate for the MCA Large Yacht qualifications (such as Officer of the Watch or Master 3000) may need to get their final exam invigilated. We will arrange this at the most convenient location available to you, however, as it may involve getting a third party invigilator, there may be a small additional fee to be paid directly to the invigilator. If you think this might apply to you, or are unsure, please get in touch for advice and more information.

Our Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) refresher training courses, available both online and in-person, are designed for managers and individuals in positions of authority who completed their original SMSTS training program less than three years ago.

Aims
Participants will undertake a concise yet equally engaging training program covering all essential aspects of enforcing health and safety codes of practice at construction sites. Topics include in-depth discussions on risk assessments and effective methods for monitoring and managing industry-specific hazards.
Instructions
For online courses labeled “Remote Learning,” a tutor will deliver the training via video call.
All SMSTS courses are delivered and assessed in English. Participants must have a good command of the language to successfully complete the program.

Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Refresher

Our CITB Online - Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher course is designed to give attendees a broad reminder of their responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites. Approved and endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group, the SSSTS refresher course is a must for anyone who occupies a supervisory role on UKCG sites and wants to brush up on their knowledge of their legal responsibilities and the latest construction industry regulations.
The SSSTS Refresher course has been created to provide existing supervisors, or those who are just entering into a supervisory role, with in-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures. If a candidate completed a full SSSTS training course up to 5 years ago, they will be required to attend a refresher programme.
Prerequisites
SSSTS certificates are of course valid for up to 5 years, but due to the ever-changing nature of the industry, it is recommended that staff stay up to date by enrolling on a refresher course long before the qualification expires.
Instructions
Please note all Site Supervisor Training courses with the venue “Remote Learning” will be delivered by a tutor over a video call.
This training will be delivered and assessed in English language; therefore, a good standard is required to complete the course.

Aim
The Digital CCTV & Remote Access course is designed to give participants a practical knowledge of integrating Analogue and Digital technologies in addition to access and control from remote locations such as laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
Duration and Schedule
The Digital CCTV & Remote Access course runs over 3 days, the next course commencing on Saturday 16th November at 10.00am
A payment of £65 secures your place on your chosen course. The balance of the course fees of £600 can be paid shortly before course commencement.

The Monday Masterclass

What does this course cover?
This is an online course for developing history leadership in primary teaching. This term, we will be piloting the course as an immersive programme covering the key elements of primary history subject leadership, enabling all involved in history leadership at primary to carry out their role effectively.
How is this course structured and delivered?
The course will take place in ten online sessions from January–May 2025. Sessions 1, 8 and 10 are compulsory to attend live. Participants will be required to complete a gap task after each session and contribute to an online reflection diary.
The other sessions will be recorded for participants to work through at their convenience, though participants are encouraged to attend the recording sessions live in order to make the most of the programme. All recordings will be made available on the course Moodle page within two working days of the live recording session.
Who is this course for? 
This programme is designed for anyone who is a subject coordinator or subject leader for history in their primary school. You may have just been appointed as a subject leader, or be more experienced but looking for formal training or fresh inspiration and direction.
What are the outcome?

Session 2: What makes an effective history subject leader? (Live and recorded)

How to effectively support teachers and learners as a history leader
How to create a vision, lead change, and manage time
Effective action planning and improvement
Auditing your history provision and building your evidence trail
Developing an innovative, inclusive and effective history curriculum in your school
Disciplinary knowledge: What is history? What do historians do?

Session 7: Approaching sensitive issues in history (Live and recorded)

What do we mean by diversity in history and why is it important?
How to ensure a wider diversity in your history teaching
Barriers to making the curriculum more diverse and how to overcome them
Approaches to sensitive issues in history lessons, including:
- Refugees and migration history
- War
- Climate change

Suggested gap task: Consider opportunities for increasing diverse voices and raising climate issues in your curriculum.

Session 8: Interim review meeting (Live attendance)
Tuesday 25 March 2025, 4pm–5.30pm
A review session allowing subject leaders to reflect upon their progress so far
Opportunity to respond to suggestions, clarify information, or raise issues from the previous sessions
Time to ask questions, share good practice or recommended resources with the rest of the cohort

Suggested gap task: Time to follow up on anything raised in this session or to complete any previous tasks, following clarification and inspiration from this session.
