dock DESIGN started life as T.Delcher Design, founded by cabinetmaker, Tommy Delcher. After honing his skills at the internationally renowned woodworking school Rowden Atelier, Tommy started out helping residents in the Liverpool area improve their homes by creating a wide range of custom-made handcrafted fitted and free-standing furniture using materials like solid wood, birch ply and MDF. In 2022, George Ashton, a long-term collaborator of Tommy’s, became the second half of dock DESIGN. Joining forces means that here at dock, we are able to be even more adventurous on our projects than ever before, continuing to deliver the quality and standards we demand from ourselves. We thrive on helping people see their vision come to life and working with clients to produce unique high-quality furniture designed and crafted specifically to match their needs.

at the library

At The Library is a programme of artist-led workshops, projects, commissions and happenings in community libraries in Bootle and Crosby. We believe that everyone has “gifts of the heart, the head and the hand” to offer to their community. Through artist-led activity, At The Library creates ways for people to share these gifts. We aim to make a new civic and cultural role for Sefton’s libraries, offering new experiences, new meeting points, new reasons to gather and ways to spend time together. Everyone is welcome and everything is free. Over the past three years, artists and library-users have co-created projects – a collaborative press archive, a Bootle tapestry, a new wallpaper, community-wide skill shares, podcasts, feasts and library-cooked lunches, and a green oasis in Bootle Library. To take part in the At The Library you can speak to one of the librarians in any of our Libraries, see the current programme on this website, or click through to find us on facebook, twitter or Instagram. Volunteers are always welcome. We have worked with artists including Ciara Phillips, Harun Morrison, Jenny Steele, Jayne Lawless, Sumuyya Khader, Sean Roy Parker, Fairland Collective, Frances Disley and Bella Milroy, alongside local historians, gardeners, community organisations and educators. To provide an excellent post-16 educational experience that transforms life chances and opportunities and responds to the needs of the community we serve. Our Mission To inspire, challenge and support students to excel in learning and in life. Priestley College became a sixth form in 1979 and has grown in numbers and reputation ever since. By 2009 the college had doubled in size thanks to improvements in performance, the introduction of new courses and significant investment in the campus. Students now have the choice of 70 A-Level, T-Level and other Vocational options with hundreds of possible combinations available. Principal James Gresty said: “We have made great strides in recent years, but we are not a college that stands still. We are constantly looking for ways to improve in order to make the biggest difference to the most number of young people.” There are now around 2,000 learners at Priestley with the latest investment a £1.5million technology centre that boasts more than 200 computers. The Crescent Building has also been extended to provide extra café and study space whilst our Performing Arts facilities have been modernised. More than £15million has been invested in the campus since 1999 on projects such as the Learning Resource Centre and an all-weather sports pitch.
