Hi, welcome to my page. I’m Sam, owner and founder of AuroraStar Holistic Therapies & Training. If you have landed here then do have a look around and I hope what I offer resonates with you. I don’t like to be pigeon-holed these days so it’s very difficult to keep on top of all the things I offer and put them all in a “website” friendly way, so if there is anything you wish to ask me, or need clarifying, please just email me and let’s have a chat! So, on with the “about me”….. I created AuroraStar in 2008 with a desire to empower people and help them achieve harmony, health and well-being. After suffering from my own health issues, I sought to treat myself as naturally as possible, beginning my journey into a holistic approach to lifestyle wellness management. Reiki was my stepping stone, and continues to be the foundation and underpinning of all my holistic work. This led me to want to help others in the same way, providing them with the overwhelming benefits that a holistic lifestyle can bring. Having worked in the industry for a number of years now, I am fully qualified to NVQ level 3 , VTCT standard, insured, and registered with the Federation of Holistic Therapists, and the Association of Professional Therapists and Lecturers With a wealth of experience spanning over 30 years in the health, beauty and fitness industry, I have an in-depth knowledge on the capability of the body and all it can accomplish if given the correct tools. So many health problems can be overcome or eased through holistic therapies, ensuring our quality of life is greatly enhanced. I am now trained in many different energy modalities and holistic therapies, and weave all of these into my work. Whether you are in need of simple relaxation or deeper healing, I offer a treatment that will suit any requirement, and training that will allow you to empower yourself to follow your own healing journey. I like to think I sit nicely balanced between the “woowoo” and the grounded!

No matter where you are on your journey, Christy is here to help: let’s you moving again with workouts, help you navigate healthier eating habits, and coach you towards the overall lifestyle you want. No matter where you are on your journey, it is Christy's goal to help educate and guide you through your options regarding your health and wellness. Everyone can be fit, healthy, and feel good, AND have fun doing it! Christy currently resides in Portland, Oregon, but is originally from the Washington D.C. area, where she went to high school at the famed T.C. Williams High School (Remember the Titans!) and then graduated in 2010 from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in History. Christy went back to school and completed a B.S. in Applied Health and Fitness from Portland State University in 2019. She has been passionate about health and fitness her whole life, and loves to share her enthusiasm with others! Christy is a graduate of the National Personal Training Institute of Portland (2013), and has been a certified personal trainer through the National Council on Strength & Fitness since 2013, as well as a NCSF Certified Strength Coach since 2021.

Hi there, I am a yoga teacher with a PhD in Metaphysical Science, a certified holistic life coach and spiritual counsellor, an organiser of wellness retreats, a teacher on the global meditation app, Insight Timer and creator of Lovable Yoga Clothing As well as my organic clothing line, I’m proud to be an Independent Consultant for the amazing certified B corporation, Arbonne. Their Mind.Body.Skin products provide clean vegan, cruelty free skincare, beauty and nutrition that has made my life so much easier and my skin clearer! Conscious living is ingrained into me now and allows me to support companies that are not harming the planet and its inhabitants. There is no Planet B! Being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome then post traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety fifteen years ago left me unable to function. I led myself down the holistic route to get my health and, ultimately, my life back, and along the way stepped into my role as a teacher and wellness guide centred around yin yoga. I discovered I have a skill in teaching and happiness in sharing my practice with others. This powerful yet very human journey has so far involved nearly six hundred hours of Yoga Alliance teacher training, including an advanced yin yoga teacher training course and yoga for trauma recovery. My intensive studies have included hatha, ashtanga, vinyasa, yin, yin yang and aerial yoga. Of these, yin yoga was the completing piece of the jigsaw for me. Yin is where my healing finds its natural flow. While I was being treated for depression many years ago, I developed a fascination with how the human brain works and the connection between the mind and body. What my consultant shared with me was incredible, and I needed to know more. This drive to understand more led me into gaining my PhD in Metaphysical Science. The fact that I had gone from being unable to function, to completing a PhD, was beyond any belief I had about myself. I never imagined I would be able to use my brain, and heal my body and mind, to the extent that I have. The intensity and depth of my yoga training and academic studying and the way in which they come together in my sessions has created my unique style of teaching yin yoga. Postures, nurture and calm are combined with the brain science behind the practice and meticulous preparation, bringing wisdom and learning from many different sources into each session. I bring healing stillness into people’s lives in order for them to better manage their challenges and find – and enjoy – the balance that is so often missing.
