Our first trip was something that will forever stick with us. The anticipation as we threw off the bow lines. We were leaving a sheltered harbour, heading West to explore the Celtic Deep. To us a marine wilderness was within our reach. No way of knowing what we'd encounter, yet knowing that anything was possible. That's the spirit we want to keep at the heart of every expedition. So far so good. Our trips look to explore the islands and offshore habitats in the stretch of water between Wales and Ireland. It is home for some of the UK's largest and most iconic marine megafauna. Sharks, whales, super pods of dolphins, even giant bluefin tuna. It's all out there. To enter the clear water of the open ocean and observe blue sharks 30 miles from the Welsh coast is an exhilirating experience. We're passionate about sharing the wonders of our marine world and getting wet doing it. Celtic Deep is run by conservationists. Our aim is to collect information and pass on what we learn about the spectacular wildlife that pass through our waters so that decision makers can put right measures in place to protect it.

Our e-learning training modules are now being used around the globe – and all from very humble beginnings. Originally designed for a local project our training has grown in popularity in the UK. We’re best known for our Disability Awareness Training – adapted for a number of business sectors. The training is available for taxi and private hire drivers, travel firms, hotels and the wider hospitality sector. The company is independently owned and based in Lowestoft, on the beautiful Suffolk coast. Our team is small but perfectly formed (we would say that, wouldn’t we?). And we are immensely proud of the work we do and are always striving to improve and grow. We believe passionately in providing a high quality service to all our customers and doing that with courtesy, professionalism and just a touch of humour. The company was originally formed by a group of friends who all had something in common – they had all sustained a spinal injury. The guys are still involved with the business as very active shareholders with the day-to-day running of the business resting with Wendy and Ian.

Wood Knoydart is a social enterprise and branch of Knoydart Forest Trust, the community woodland charity that manages woodland on the remote peninsula of Knoydart. Our woodland is a resource and catalyst in building the resilience of our community and, the local and global environment. The WK brand was launched in 2014 to use and showcase our local timber, to invest in local livelihoods and pay back into the regeneration of Knoydart’s woodlands as well as combating the world's climate crisis. The collective skills of our makers, Kristy, Johann & Lorna, result in the design and production of aesthetically pleasing, tactile and functional pieces. We are a tiny community but we have the potential to make a big difference, you can be part of the change by buying our products.

Hello, I am Kathleen (Kate) Picken and live near Kirkcudbright, a beautiful town on the South West Coast of Scotland. I studied music at Aberdeen College of Education and started my teaching career in secondary. After a break when my family were young, I took up a post of teaching music in primary schools, in the area in and around Kirkcudbright, a job I have been doing now for over 35 years. I also lead and sing in an adult vocal group ‘Taste of Country’ and I am the Music Director of ‘The Farmers Choir’ I enjoy creating and developing music resources which show clear progression across the levels in Curriculum for Excellence (the national curriculum for Scottish schools for learners from the ages 3–18) to help support teachers in the delivery of music to their students. I have delivered several music workshops at the SAME Conferences over the years along with presenting online. My work currently involves teaching music in primary (age 5 – 11), running ‘after school’ music workshops on group piano/keyboard, bucket drumming, leading a junior choir and creating and developing primary music resources.

We met at Norwich School of Art in the 1970’s where we trained in graphic design when cut & paste was simply that - we used paper, pencils and pens to create our ideas. Though the years have passed, and technology now plays a greater role in our lives, we’re still as excited by art and design as we were then. Now based in a quiet corner of Suffolk, close to the coast, our work has taken two distinct paths – Jane creates unique textile brooches & artworks using free-machine embroidery, whilst Edwin hand prints letterpress posters and cards using vintage type and printing presses. As designers, we have always been drawn to create things, our work can be found in local shops and galleries. We also enjoy meeting our customers face to face at creative fairs and makers markets. In August 1956, my mother and father arrived at Hall Grove with a young family and set about founding a school. It was a brave enterprise, but starting with just six pupils they laid the foundations for what is today one of the leading preparatory schools in the country with 420 boys and girls and a talented teaching and support staff of over 60 men and women. Hall Grove has a very special character. It is a country school that enriches young lives with a wide range of experiences, both in its extensive grounds and on the South Devon coast at our own field study centre. Success can be measured in our academic results, sporting achievements and by our dramatic and musical performances. More importantly, our pupils enjoy their school days and, over time, they develop a deep and lasting attachment to the place that will have helped shape their future lives. My own teaching career started here in 1978. 43 years later I handed over day-to-day responsibility to Neil Tomlin, our exceptional Headmaster. As Principal of the school I remain in very close contact, overseeing key aspects of policy and helping to plan future developments.

I am a photographer and educator based in Hampshire, on the south coast of the United Kingdom with some 30 years experience combining photographic assignments with lecturing in Media and the Visual Arts. In addition to undertaking a range of professional photographic assignments for corporate and individual clients, I have been engaged by a number of colleges, education centres and other learning establishments in both the public and private sectors, working primarily with post 16 and adult learners. I have accumulated an extensive knowledge of photographic techniques and technologies along with additional specialist skills in new media such as video/moving image production, desk top publishing, graphics and design for the web. As a photographer I believe it is extremely important to sustain personal development, to continually extend my knowledge and refine my skills. I have always maintained a commitment to independent creative practice through self directed projects, a number of which have been exhibited in galleries across the UK. As a fully qualified teacher I am highly motivated to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for the visual arts and I fully subscribe to the ethos of lifelong learning.”
