Lighthouse Glass

Redditch

Welcome to Lighthouse Glass – I hope you like what you see My name is Vic Kirk and I’m a retired engineer. Glass has always interested me and I have enjoyed working with glass for many years, repairing and making leaded glass panels and making terrariums as gifts. Lampworking In 2010 I started my journey of lampwork bead making . I love lampworking because of the reactions of the glass that occur when used with varying conditions in the flame and kiln using different types of glass. Beads can be made from a wide variety of glasses that if used together must be compatible with each other, and when worked can come out of the kiln looking totally different. Making sets of beads provides another level of accuracy to achieve. Opening the kiln the next day always brings surprises !! Studio Workshop Now that I have retired, my wife April and I have opened a retail studio workshop in Astwood Bank, Worcestershire. We run lampwork and jewellery making classes/courses which can be organised to suit your requirements. These are bookable on line. The lampwork studio can comfortably accommodate 2 students. I also provide one to one tuition for people wishing to learn individually. Findings along with my lampwork beads are for sale in the shop and I also do lampworking demonstrations, so if you’re interested come along and see me in action. April, (Fuchsia Cottage Crafts) and my daughter Jay (Jays Jewels) are both avid seed beaders and have made some of my beads into beautiful pieces of jewellery – these are on sale in the shop so if you’re passing – pop in, and take a look. If anything on this site takes your fancy or if you think you might want a specific colour combination please contact me so that we can chat about what you want, without obligation of course.

Sarah's Pet Services Dog Fun Field

sarah's pet services dog fun field

We are located just a couple of miles east of Elgin in beautiful rural surroundings. Sarah's Pet Services is owned and run by myself, Sarah Young with the indispensible help of my wonderful team, Lisa, Ilona, Lianne, Sam & Elaine. Since opening in 2017 we have proved to be a very popular pet services business. Covering Fochabers to Elgin to Lossiemouth we offer dog walking in groups or solo walks, pet pop in visits for puppies/older dogs, cat/small animal visits to care for your pets while you are away and horse care visits. Fully insured, we offer a free meet and greet visit prior to carrying out any care for your furbabies. In 2019 I decided to pursue my dream of having dog kennels, where I could offer exisiting and new customers a safe and comfortable place for their dogs to stay while they are away. I wanted to create a peaceful surrounding with emphasis on regular attention and proper exercise for my doggie guests. We have a block of 5 spacious kennels each with their own runs. Each dog is let out of their kennel 4 times a day and we are lucky to have a lovely onsite walk where we take the dogs twice a day for their walks. In addition, we now have an onsite 2 acre secure field for dogs who aren't allowed off lead to run and play in. I recognise every dogs needs are different, therefore I offer two packages depending on amount of exercise you wish your dog to get. Please check out the boarding and daycare page for more information. Please note our grooming book is now full and we are not currently taking on any new dogs for grooms.

Welcome to our Espression Arts Family, make yourself at home whilst I pop the kettle on. How are you today? Espression Arts is a creative community led by Me, Catherine, the founder, the glue behind our special, arty enterprise. I live in a small village partner to a very patient Daddy Jean who puts up with the hours of work and energy we give to projects and our clients. I am Mummy to my two beautiful children, Melodie 7, and Jerome 11, who are often with me on projects and at events, along with Daisy Dog who sometimes comes along too! I grew up with a creative and hard-working family, My dedication, work ethic, and focus for things I believe in, I get from them. My Mum who now lives with Parkinson’s in an annex in our garden spends her spare time when she isn’t bowling in the village as one of Espression Arts many creative volunteers. If I am not working I am found snuggling on the sofa watching films with a gin and tonic! Whilst studying Visual Arts at Goldsmiths University London I enjoyed spending my spare time getting to know the local community, working in pubs, and helping with play schemes. Since then, I spent 25 years developing my community facilitation and project management skills starting in youth work management working for an environmental charity in Southeast London. In 2009 we left the big city and started our Pottery Painting Community Journey in the historic town of Canterbury, opening our interactive arts café. This is where our family grew with everyone who loved pottery painting as much as we did! Sadly, the interactive arts café, closed at the end of 2020 during the Covid19 Pandemic, but we are still going strong! We continue sharing arts and wellbeing experiences with others! Happily our Espression Arts Family is just getting bigger and bigger as a result. In 2017, our family business became not for profit and became a Social Enterprise which has helped us to take profits from sales of our ceramic products, parties, and workshops, combined with successful grant applications, and deliver some of the best community projects in Kent. I am proud of our position in the local community feel respected for both business and charitable, endeavours, before the pandemic we were awarded Kent Messenger Best Creative Volunteer Project for both Canterbury and all of Kent, we were even finalists for Kent Dementia Friendly Awards. We under-promise and over-deliver with passion for people and give everyone the opportunity to experience art. There are many ways you could support our creative family! I have taken some of my successful face to face sessions and turned them into successful online programs. The only equipment you need is smart phone, a tablet or laptop. There is something for people who just want to get going with minimal support, or we can work together to create something completely personal to you that gives you as much support and accountability as you want. All my online programs include nutrition and habit coaching and are fully achievable to complete at home. You can log in via my app, follow the routine and log your activity. Depending on the program you choose, I will then review your activity and help you along the way. I also do LIVE sessions you can join in with. FACE TO FACE Training With the face to face training, you’ll need to live in Shrewsbury, Oswestry or the Surrounding villages. I have a totally private gym area at home, so if you’re uncomfortable with the mainstream gym or struggle to find the time to go, this is a perfect option for you. Together we will create a plan that works towards your goals. We will also have a good chat and a laugh as we go. You’ll get access to the fitness app, a private Facebook group and LIVE online sessions. NUTRITION COACHING I have various levels of nutrition coaching options which can be as basic or as in-depth as you need them to be. We’ll work together with the support of a nutriton app, making it easy to do on the go. Depending on the level you choose, you’ll either get hints and tips along the way or a full ‘hold your hand’ service that includes video and phone support if needed. What’s Next? Pop over to the ‘Training Options’ section, choose the program that’s right for you and create your account. You’ll get a welcome email instantly with guidance, then I will contact you within 24 hours, to find out about your goals.

Library of Things and Repair Cafes. We are currently (as of Spring 2021) introducing HOW TO Reduce your Carbon Footprint workshops within the Share and Repair Shop and as a pilot project within primary schools. Another strand of ‘sharing’ is our Library of Things. We started this at the Weston Hub in November 2018 and changed our official name to Share & Repair in line with our expanded vision. We become a charity: In April 2020, Share and Repair gained charitable status as a CIO (charitable incorporated organisation) no 1189015. This is a major milestone for us and means we are accountable and can now raise funds through grant making trusts and from Gift Aid. We opened our first pop-up shop: In June 2020 we hit another major milestone when we opened the doors to the Share and Repair Shop in the centre of Bath. Our first location on Broad Street had an incredible response, raising awareness of sharing and repairing in Bath. In August 2021 we moved to another location at 3 York Buildings, George Street (BA1 2EB), which is now the new home for the Bath Library of Things and a place where we run even more repair sessions. HomeKIT launches: In Spring 2021 we officially launch HomeKIT. This is a new project that will see us taking donations of good-quality but unwanted kettles, irons and toasters and sharing these ‘home kits’ with partner charities who will distribute them to low-income households. If items need repairing, we certainly have the skills and means to do so. We’re really excited about expanding our work in this way and working with other organisations.
