Business Grammar & Usage: ENGLISH BOOT CAMP is the answer for today’s business competitive environment. Attendees Will Be Able To: Know the Parts of Speech and their correct uses; Understand Sentence Structure, including applying rules for Subject-Verb and Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement; Be able to create Plurals and Possessives accurately and with certainty; Review and use the rules of Spelling, Mechanics (Capitalization, Abbreviation, Number Use), and Punctuation; Create original email / documents to employ newly-learned class material. Online Format—Business Grammar and Usage is a 4-hour interactive virtual class for up to ten people. Register for this class and you will be sent ONLINE login instructions prior to the class date. It was great to have the opportunity to learn some new techniques and to gain more awareness of how I present myself. The most immediately applicable uses have been in reducing my “ums” and “ahs” and in trying to come to my point in a more succinct way. Supporting low-income families to engage with museums: Afternoon Cuppa Session (Wales) Monday 18 November, 2.30-3.30pm Do you want to gain a better understanding of family audiences that are experiencing poverty? About this training This session will explore the barriers faced by families experiencing poverty and help attendees to think about how to support this group in their venues. We will hear from Simon Page, Education Project Manager (Wales) at Child Poverty Action Group about the impact of poverty for families in Wales. Simon will be joined by Sara Fortune, Museum Manager at Preston Park Museum and Grounds, who will share some of their learning from the Poverty Proofing© process at Tees Valley Museums. The session will help delegates to: deepen your understanding of poverty in Wales, gain insight into how poverty can impact a family’s chances of engaging with cultural venues, think about how considerations around poverty can impact on the experiences you provide for families in your museum. The session will be delivered in English with bilingual slides, with an option to provide a Welsh language interpreter.
