Working as a Beauty Therapist since leaving school and running a salon of her own, Christine has years of experience in the Beauty industry. Whilst training and managing her staff she realised that she had a passion to train others and raise the standards of training, so she decided to complete her PGCE, and moved on to work as an assessor in college. She did this for 13 years before leaving the college to teach in a private academy (where she worked with Tracy). Here she led the training in various brow and SPMU treatments. As the Head tutor here at The Beauty Hub, Christine teaches the majority of our courses. With her vast experience and knowledge you know you are in safe hands! It is very important to me that when they go back to the salon they feel confident that they can deliver the best possible service to their clients. When we set up the Beauty Training Hub we knew that 1:1 training for all students was a must and it has been more successful than we could’ve imagined. It is our USP as most other training is carried out in a college-style environment. When a student comes to us we feel like a family, it’s a relaxed yet professional environment where everyone feels comfortable. Students come into their own and really thrive and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved.’

TTRS is modular in design and contains 24 levels with 31 modules in each level. A module typically takes a few minutes to complete and we recommend taking 2-3 modules a session. Student success is encouraged by immediate feedback and positive reinforcement. This feedback includes a score that is based on completion rates and accuracy, not speed or time taken. First score – first success The course starts with learning to touch-type, read and spell the vowels – a , e , i , o , u. The audio track accompanies the letters as they appear on screen, reinforcing sound-letter correspondence, which is a crucial skill for sounding out words in reading. The user then receives their first score – and success! Phonics and repetition In the second level, the student is introduced to words grouped by onset, vowel-blend and final consonant. For example – fed, wed, led. This teaches phonics in context and at the same time the student learns the position of the keys using the on-screen hand guides. With repetition, words move from short-term to long-term memory and the skill of typing begins to feel more comfortable. Repetition is also a way of over-learning that can help users with dyslexia overcome working memory and processing difficulties. Multi-sensory approach TTRS takes a multi-sensory approach to repetition learning. Through the multi-sensory approach, a user hears the words spoken through headphones or speakers, sees the words printed on the screen, and is prompted as to which fingers to press via the on-screen keyboard. Finally, through the sense of touch, they type out the words, harnessing muscle memory in the hands and fingers to learn spelling.

LIZ TIRANTI CREATES BESPOKE MOSAIC ARTWORKS FROM HER INSPIRED MOSAICS STUDIO IN HOVE. ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES, DECORATIVE PIECES & SCULPTURES FOR HOMES, GARDENS AND PUBLIC SPACES . BORN: London 1969. Lives and works in Brighton & Hove, United Kingdom. ARTISTS STATEMENT: I am a contemporary mosaic artist. My goal? To celebrate and challenge the art of mosaic. Colour underpins everything I create. The approach: intuitive. In my work over twenty five yearsI have developed a striking and vibrant style. The work has included architectural wall and floor features, decorative pieces and sculptures. Whilst developing my sculptural practice I was one of the first in Britain to import concrete construction techniques specifically for mosaic making from North America. This led to my recent postgraduate enquiry into how to translate fragment to form. To take the tile (tesserae) from the surface and make it the object in itself. After all, mosaic originated in Roman construction techniques, it did not begin as decoration. Experience in working to commission for private, corporate and public clients has equipped me with a broad spectrum of skills. They range from design and making to fine judgement about enhancing a space. It is underpinned by a careful interpretation of the clients’ requirements. The art of mosaic, often overlooked and undervalued, is rich in culture, materials and skill. It’s traditions and versatility I continue enthusiastically to embrace. My purpose? To stimulate discussion about the mosaic-making process and to contribute to its' position as both a craft and a fine art form. Currently I focus on producing new sculptural artwork for exhibition and sale.

Students for Global Health is an organization run by students for students. We have a vision of a fair and just world in which equity in health is a reality for all. We educate, advocate and act towards global health equity for students all across the United Kingdom, of all disciplines and backgrounds. Although our focus as an organization and network is towards global health we are also the representative body of all UK medical students to the International Federation of Medical Students, who represent all medical students worldwide to the World Health Organisation (WHO), which is the leader and governing body of healthcare services for all UN member states. This means that if you’re a medical student studying at a UK university, we represent you to the world. We have almost thirty branches at universities across the country, with thousands of members. We organize at least four national events every year, two general assemblies and two conferences. These are held up and down the country and any and all students are welcome to attend, no matter whether they are represented by a branch or not. We are one of the most accountable and professionally governed student organizations in the country. The charity is led by a National Committee, made up of individuals elected by the branches and affiliate organizations. Each branch also has a committee elected by the members at each of the respective universities. We also have a board of trustees as mandated by the charities commission. The board of trustees is comprised of professionals who kindly donate their time to provide oversight of the operation of the charity.
