I’m Amy – mummy, wife, founder of Born to Bee Happy and early years expert. Ever since I can remember I’ve been early years mad! Being a teacher I am passionate about education. I just love learning! I truly believe in lifelong learning and I am always looking to develop myself – every day is a learning day. Even as adults I think we have so much to learn, no matter what age. I really enjoy furthering my own knowledge, even when it comes to studying and completing a Masters in Early Years. I also think we have a lot to learn from children, just watching them, learning about the way they develop, and how they play in the present moment is fascinating - I love seeing the theory in action! I’ve been working in education and early years for the last 15 years, teaching all ages from babies to adults in a variety of roles. Most recently I have been supporting and training professionals working in the early years sector, to improve standards and outcomes for all children. I believe that the early years are the most crucial time of anyone’s life as this is when all of the foundations are laid. This is why as an early years inspector, I'm passionate about ensuring early years provision is of the highest standard.

We are a group of teachers, musicians and technologists who specialise in composition, improvisation and performance using iPads. Ben Sellers and Travis Snyder began running music workshops with iPads in a Hackney community centre in 2011, developing an approach that combined outstanding musical outcomes with implicit development of musicianship and theory. They transferred this approach to both formal mainstream and SEND/ALN contexts, codifying their methods into what became the 2014 textbook ‘Teaching Music with Garageband for iPad’, and a popular teacher training scheme. In 2016, Travis returned to California to become the head of Assistive Technology for the San Francisco District School Board. 2017 saw the publication of several new resources, including a second edition of the Garageband textbook and an increased focus on training partnerships with Music Education Hubs. Since 2018 we have gained an increasingly strong reputation as SEND/ALN specialists, working with MEHs up and down the country to improve provision through co-delivery and bespoke training and resources, including a complete ‘SEN/D Curriculum’ with Leicester-Shire Music Service, and a set of projects for the Charanga education platform. We were nominated twice in the 2019 ‘Music Teacher Awards for Excellence’. Though our reputation has grown, we remain a small and focussed team, working hard to develop in young people the skill, desire and drive to use music to enhance their lives.

The LFI offers a unique education. From primary school on, the pupils are immersed in a multicultural and bilingual environment. Innovative and creative teaching programmes allow the children to be educated in favourable learning conditions. LFI follows the teaching programmes of the French Department for National Education, while taking into account the local environment and the pupils themselves. Mastery of the French language, the teaching language, and its expansion are at the heart of the syllabus. Workshops for small groups in the primary school and junior cycle allow the pupils for whom it is not their mother tongue to make rapid progress. In the same way, the modern languages policy emphasises English, the language of our host country. Every pupil from the youngest up follows an individual progression. In 5e (First Year), the pupils join the Eurocampus, run jointly with our partner St. Kilian’s. French, German, Irish and other pupils take classes together.
